Gaming Props - What do you use and how do you make them?

This is what I have done: Draw out my map. Scan it and bring it into Adobe photoshop for editing. Download the map template from the Wizards "Map a week" feature. Here is the link (it's under "3/01" bonus map): http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/mw/mw20020725x2001 When I'm...

Feign Death & Speak With Dead

The 3E version doesn't deal with the departed soul, but instead gives false life to the remains. I believe that the AD&D and Hackmaster (which is based on the AD&D mechanics) versions are different (and if I know egomann, he is playing with either of those 2 systems).

Feign Death & Speak With Dead

Hey egomann! Ha...that's pretty funny. My players come up with devious ways to avoid plot hooks all the time. :) In this case, I probably would have given that to them. A Speak with Dead allows them to talk to the spirit. Since he isn't really dead, I would have simply told them that it...

Suggestions for initiation into a group of undead slayers

The group is known as the Association for the Dead. They are scattered across the Sundered Sea, but return every year to Marghone, the Hearth of the Stonelands. Once a year, Marghone has the "Deadspeak Festival". Families, loved ones, and bards gather to commemorate those that have fallen or...

Suggestions for initiation into a group of undead slayers

I'm looking to create a "trial" to initiate the PCs into a group of undead slayers. I plan to split the party and provide a series of encounters in which they must prove themselves. This idea is only in the beginning stages, so I'm looking for some suggestions for the various tests.

It's hard being an adult gamer

I read your original post at the top, and then skimmed the rest...but I'm going to give my opinion anyway. :) I GMed a gaming group (with nearly the same group of players) since I was 18 (I'm 30 now). I believe that one of the things that kept us playing every week (as adults, with plenty...

I've been asked by GenCon LLC to provide them with a new logo. You can post your comments here: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=132314

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

If we could get on the GenCon forums (and they weren't crashing), I'd point you to one of the numerous threads that I had started on this. :D To sum it up, they need: a seperate database server, 2 load balanced dual processor servers. That alone would improve things significantly. Then...

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

:) Have you seen any of my posts on the GenCon forum, by any chance? I've been harping on this stuff since January.

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

Well, I have stuff in my cart, but can't sign out.

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

This may seem terribly simple, but there are freeware programs to test the load on a server...why wasn't anything tested...again?

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

Yeah, there is. Good luck getting GenCon LLC to do it though. :)

    Registration Experience (Good or bad?)

    Yeah...well...I can't say that I'm surprised.

    High level Modules

Check the Kenzer boards. I answered your PM there too. I played the Crypt at the Dungeon Crawl Classics tournament at GenCon this last year. I will say this for Goodman Games - they have some excellent and very engaging GMs running their events.

    High level Modules

Well, with some tweaking (encounter difficulties will have to be increased), Goodman Game's "Crypt of the Devil Lich" would be good. It certainly was a blast to play.
