    Dilreen's Magic Aura

This was my initial reaction as well... but then I thought of how it would scale with levels and I decided to keep the SRD Magic Aura duration. As spellcasters grow, so do the auras on them multiply. Imagine a mid to high level caster wanting to hide his auras... with a 24 hour duration he would...

The Monk isn't MAD... he's ENRAGED!!!!

Uhuummm.... the Rope Trick is such a superb spell, that I get the impression that it even beats Discern Location!!! Have you noticed? ...I mean the answer always is: He is in an extradimensional space that is outside the multiverse of extradimensional spaces (“planes”)!!!! :D As for the...

    Dilreen's Magic Aura

A few months ago I posted this spell, which is nothing more than Magic Aura for auras on the person rather than auras on items. I've added some more text to make it more explicit and I come again asking for your vote since the last thread died out with two votes only.:erm: So here it goes...

    Seeking an SRD

The Hypertext version is fast, precise, and utterly googlable.

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

my point EXACTLY! No. Not the same thing. Let apart the fact that its not mentioned in the text, it is a completely unsupported assumption. The counter forces provided from stable items or by the bow being anchored in the proper surface/material are much bigger than the ones you gain by...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

I'm sure that Spock would agree to the following rules: Given the text (and bow sketch), the bow can be used without a problem on the following surfaces: 1)Ice 2)Soil (as in "Ground"- that means most outdoor terrains... woods, plains etc), 3)Sand (?... I think) 4)Wood 5)All other soft and...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

No. But I could get some lesser bows (+2s or +1s) and other great stuff instead!! "Something of Flying" would be great wouldn't it? But this debate is pointless because a) A feat has no price, no matter your quote & b) The Bone Bow as you said yourself is probably not what you thought it was...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

If only I had the time to list the composite bows and other magical trinkets I could buy with 25K!!! As for the estimate itself... I wouldn't know how to rate it. What I know is that there are feats that are priceless... in a sense that there are no items to compensate for what they do... So I...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

Cheaper than a feat. Of all the things possible with the polymorph spell, spending it on an archer so as to boost his str has to be one of the worst uses ever... Come on... Admit it! ??? Before making any hasty decisions, I suggest you ask the spike first whether it can live through the...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

No. I'm saying that you can profit from your FULL str with a simple composite bow without spending a feat for it. Moreover, I'd keep in my Efficient Quiver (something any decent archer SHOULDN'T live without) a couple more composite longbows with the appropriate bonuses IN CASE my Str gets...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

Ok so the opposition will aim for the archer's strength... ? Possible... perhaps a bit metagamy but possible. A waste of time IMHO. On the other hand some creatures deal str damage no matter what.... Still the archer should be away from those... str damage or not. Melee shouldn't be his thing...

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

Sure. Why shouldn't he use a normal composite longbow (meaning that he 'll take full advantage of strength) and save a feat?

My friend wants his Archer build improved...

Good advice, except for the Bone Bow which is equally useless. Any feat spent on an exotic bow (and in our case for 1 extra point of damage/hit) is useless. Moreover, any decent DM will not allow the use of this bow everywhere (see text about the spikes) Any other feat is better spent.

    Divine Spellcraft vs Arcane Spellcraft

If only you could understand that there are people who enjoy differentiating (largely) arcane from divine in their game. If only.

    Divine Spellcraft vs Arcane Spellcraft

Perhaps it would help if we made a parallel with languages. Two distinct and very different languages with incompatible structures, philosophy and general feel. A simple paradigm would be a language from the far east (say Japanese) compared to a western one (say English). This is how different...

    Divine Spellcraft vs Arcane Spellcraft

We play spellcraft another way. If you are an Arcane-caster you only get to use spellcraft on arcane spells. If you are a Divine-caster you only get to use spellcraft on divine spells. If you are none of the above and still have spellcraft, you choose whether it applies on Arcane or Divine...

Help me list spells that make skills irrelevant.

Great idea! ;) ...Still I'm here more like the devil's advocate... I will be the one to provide the counter argumentsB-) So.. lets see... ..... Any Skill: Spells Divine Insight Standard Skills: Spells Appraise: Legend Lore (significant items) Balance: Fly Bluff: Glibness Climb...
