Thanks, that’s helpful. I’ll rummage about in the attic to see if I still have a copy of BotR. Allan.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

Any sense of how this compares to WotC’s pre-MtG series, The Primal Order? They’re the gold standard in my mind for pantheon and RPG religion design: DriveThruRPG Allan.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

Definitely something I’ve been exploring more in our current campaign—the gods of Oerth are active and engaged in the world, and we’ve had more than a few instances of Divine Intervention at the table thus far: Nerull responding to his name as the PCs were looting a hidden temple in Castle...

I have toyed with him a bit too, in particular in opposition to Daern and Johydee as part of an artifact of his I created, The Cloak of Frogs: Canonfire! - Postfest III: Marisuda and The Cloak of Frogs Allan.

Same for me: Why Greyhawk in 2023? - grodog's Thoughts I find Wee Jas one of the most-compelling of Greyhawk gods, and highlighted her and her clergy as an example of how to design factions in general, and in GH in particular, in Oerth Journal #31. Allan.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

I wouldn’t agree with that: the Tekumel Foundation has done an admirable job of bringing EPT rules sets, novels, maps, and supplements back into print in new editions that correct errors, expand content, and introduce the setting to new fans. They’ve also done a great job navigating Barker’s...

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

EPT was always owned by Barker, so WotC owns no rights to it. And I’m not sure why you wouldn’t count it in your reckoning, since Lin Carter and other folks were LARPing in Tekumel in the 1950, making it the oldest established RPG setting by far. Can you please clarify your broad point? Allan.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

The comments I bolded above are incorrect: Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and Barker’s Tekumel/Empire of the Petal Throne settings all predated OD&D’s initial playtesting, development, and publication, like the FR. Allan.

D&D General The Greyhawk Pantheon: How Greyhawk Approaches Deities (& Demigods)

A few quick notes: the 1983 boxed set listing omitted the Suloise goddess Osprem from the roster of deities Lenard Lakofka did create the Suel pantheon, with Gary’s blessings, beginning as far back as 1977, but most-visibly through his Dragon articles and L1-5 series of Lendore Isle adventure...

    D&D General Greyhawk: Beyond Oerik

Rob Kuntz mentioned Lynn in Dungeon#124’s “Chambers of Antiquities” level of _Maure Castle: “the legendary land of Lynn” being, “somewhere across the eastern ocean and many thousands of miles away” (page 85). My understanding is that Rob’s nod was an allusion not to Aquaria (which is tied...
