    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

It is interesting the different places where our differing assumptions lie. I would not go to this level about "blackguard", but mangling "nuclear" as "nu-cu-ler" sounds unreservedly moronic. I suppose this has to do with how something like "nuclear" is spelled as it supposed to be said, from...

D&D 4E From the 4e MM preview: Astraljamming?!

I don't know what the default is going to be, but I'm using Asmor-Burr Astral spacetime. (Gee, actually that's kind of a nice-sounding term.) Harry

Gary Gygax has passed. RIP beloved father of RPG's. (merged)

I read all of the tributes up to where I am posting, and this (along with one another) was what I thought was the most like what I would have liked to have said. Please allow me to second this, if I may. Harry

The Best & Worst of 3rd Edition: The Best Products AND Designers Are...

Happily, I own most of these products, even though my gaming purchases slowed down drastically in the last year. It would be really tough to choose between products at this stage, since many of these are the absolute best, at different things. I guess it comes down to what aspect of gaming is...

    Attn: Chattanooga (TN) Gamers!

Aargh! (Although if you can get your parents to pick 'em up from my parents ...) When did you live in Hixson? (I was there from '72 to '85 before going off to college; gamed at the Chattanooga Hobby Shop before that closed years ago.) I will post in this thread if someone claims the...

Is there anyone who would like a large number of Dragon magazines from issues in the 80's to the early 200's? The set is not complete, and some of the issues in the #90's have had the covers come off, but I have a box full of magazines I found visiting my parents a couple weeks ago that I...

    The strangely brightening comet

Thanks for the news link. We had a long cloudy stretch here in SE Minnesota, but in a couple of clear nights over the last week I also found the comet very hard to pick out by eye, but it stands out in even a small pair of binoculars. Thank goodness it is so close to Mirfak, so it is easily...

[NFL] Pats vs. Colts - make your prediction here!

I thought that their defense at least could hold them together, but that has been weak as well. (emphasis mine) Ah, well, ya see, there's the rub. The 'Phins have taken ten years, and they still don't have a quarterback. Now they need to fill another ten or twenty positions, and they...

    The strangely brightening comet

It doesn't seem to be fading as quickly as it would if its brightening was due to one outburst of dust, so something more complex is going on, plus it seems to be developing a gas tail. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap071105.html

[NFL] Pats vs. Colts - make your prediction here!

Sigh. I must also offer up some salty tears. I have no allegiance to the Colts, but I am heartily sick of the Patriots. I'm a Dolphins fan. 2-6 would be AWESOME. Harry

[NFL] Pats vs. Colts - make your prediction here!

Actually, I think that statements claiming that anyone who thinks the Patriots did anything wrong , or are doing something wrong or improper, or who thinks that the Colts can beat them, only has that opinion because of an unreasoning personal animus against the Patriots is making it personal...

Thank you for responding. To draw together this line of discussion, here are: Okay. I read both of those links. I could not find in either of them the specific, explicit endorsement of : While I did find: as a statement that the Patriots cheating, (sorry, "misunderstanding" a pretty...

What Halloween candy will you steal from your kids after they go to bed tonight?

This whole Reece's thing is kinda weird. My wife bought three bags of candy, one of the Reece's for trick-or-treaters. My wife & I don't have any kids, but I had to consciously cycle through the bags of candy my wife bought to avoid keeping *all* the Reece's for myse- I mean, ourselves.

[NFL] Pats vs. Colts - make your prediction here!

You seem to be sayig that it would have no game effect if you know what plays the other team will be running, and they don't know what plays *you* will be running. That's a big difference. Now, in the case of the Jets, the Patriots did not need to cheat to beat them, which asks the question...
