How long does it take to generally take to set a campaign up

I would suggest that once you have a basic idea of what type of world you want get the players started on making characters. They will come up with ideas for what they want and you can see how they mesh with your world idea. So I would go with 5 mins. Once you have some characters you can...

Looking for good "against the cult" adventures - preferably urban

Could you give some details on what these are about? SPOILERS for lfr 4e core 1-4, 1-7. The Abolethic Sovereignty are trying to take over the world as usual. They have found a way to make Iomic crystals act as receptors for Abberrant energies. Mission one is people in the town are...

A question on some game systems

Combat will result in maiming was our biggest gripe with it. This is ok if that is the sort of game you want. It is quite similar to things like MERP in this regard.

Looking for good "against the cult" adventures - preferably urban

I ran core 1-4 and core 1-7 which maybe fit into your idea. They are again lfr 4e modules. They are set in Awn/islands off Awn but easily moved.

Research: What Makes a GM Great?

I used to say 20 years ago they needed 1. a decent set of mechanics 2. ability to describe things well 3. good plot and reasonable things to fight. 4. good players. Don't think much has changed except 1. is probably much easier now.

D&D 4E 4E D&D: Brainstorming for the Next Tier of Adventures

Maybe include if you can the epic destinies of the players so the whole game can be wrapped up including those. That might give us some ideas.

D&D 5E Tomb of Annihilation campaign recaps

I am almost ready to start. Assuming my group survives the final boss attacking Myth Nantar first session will be in 3 months or so. Thanks for the session summaries they are fun to read and will provide ideas.

    D&D 4E How To Clone 4E Using 5E Rules

I just read pathfinder 2 playtest, I have never played pathfinder. It seems their model for feats might well be a good replacement for the way 4e did feats, possibly including utility and skill powers in the mix. Didn't most of the small almost pointless hard to remember static bonuses come...

    D&D 4E How To Clone 4E Using 5E Rules

I'm not sure what we are trying to fix. Other than feats which are too numerous and 90% of them at least are useless I am not sure what is wrong with 4th edition. Maybe skill challenges aren't great but that may be just because they are hard to make believable. What other things are actually...

Torture Should Not Work in Dungeons & Dragons

I'm fine with you butchering all the orcs and the women and children and baby orcs though provided you promise to make it a quick death

Torture Should Not Work in Dungeons & Dragons

Let us assume hand waving torture is a possible thing in a game of d&d. Given that, what PC's would be allowed to do it without consequence? Is it by definition an evil act? Can even super zealous good paladin use it for the greater good? Does it depend on the God the paladin worships? are...

    OSR [4e] OSR Clone

If you are planning to have some situational powers be useful in non combat spheres you have an immediate problem which is they will clash with combat powers. I suspect there may be too much surgeless healing but I haven't played it obviously.

    OSR [4e] OSR Clone

Healing attack has some layout issues. There is a space in the wrong place with of and the ally can spend a healing surge is crossed out by the line that moves to the next section. Exploding sun similarly has its effect line crossed out, and the effect line of storming steel, and effect line...

    OSR [4e] OSR Clone

Close bursts didn't originally allow opportunity attacks. As the rules are written as far as I can see so far they do in your version. Will comment more once I see all the powers and what casters can do if they get enemies next to them.

    OSR [4e] OSR Clone

Cause fear and forced movement in general needs some mention of what happens if there is a cliff immediately behind the creature feared. Can it choose to save for example and if successful is it places prone before the barrier? Allowing opportunity attacks against it may make the power too...

Not sure you need 2 different anti undead power choices. How does your can use healing word twice per encounter interact with your current can cast any encounter power anytime you like rule.

Is boost faith so useless it should be a triggered ability made after the roll? i.e. you can choose to use it after you see the number you roll on the dice.
