Goblins (and presumably hobgoblins and bugbears as well) as PC races? Awesome! :D
That means the playable races for Eberron and Birthright are finally complete.
Also: Kobolds, yay!
The only thing I still want for 4e is the Epic Tier DMG3, which has a snowball's chance in hell of being...
Hmph. I had hoped for a reprint of the Grey Box. I think I'll pass that one.
Unfortunately, it won't be.

It makes me want to listen to its awesome song in its entirety. And sing along, of course!
Thinking of dwarves, I haven't played one since the mid-90s. Humans, half-elves and elves are my favorites, in that order. So I'll go with a "no".
No exact dates. Sometime in 2012, that's all.
FR was released in 1987; does anyone know the exact release date? My guess is that the Anniversary Edition would be released the same month as the Grey Box.

Outside of splatbooks, Dragon Magazine is your best bet for filling in the gaps, unless you want to create your own homebrew versions of e.g. the Sentinel's missing seasons. I once did a few homebrew weapon specializations for the Slayer, and it wasn't that difficult.
Regarding constructs, there might be some precedents, at least in the MERP sourcebooks published by ICE. The Drúedain/Woses have the Pûkel-men, which are stone statues that guard their holy sites, and it is said that they can come to life and attack intruders. IIRC they were also said to be...
First, I'd take a look at the themes that Tolkien used extensively in his works. For me, these themes include:
- free will vs. tyranny, domination, and slavery
- hope vs. despair
- the passing away of ancient knowledge (represented by the withdrawal of the elves)
- the presence of an immortal...
