    Druids

Ok. I think I know which direction I am going to go. I am taking Vow of Poverty from Book of Exalted Deeds. I think it completely fits into the character that I want (eschewing material goods and embracing mother nature). The next step then is, what animals can I wildshape into in a...

    Druids

So, just so I am straight, a druid gains the new CON of an animal wildshaped into, but the hitpoints do not go up? Is this the only instance in 3.5 where there can be a CON increase and the hitpoints don't increase? For example, Raging, Bear's Endurance all give hitpoints, but wildshaping...

Your top ten most useful items

One of the guys that I game with says having a bag of flour was always useful. This was the best way to take care of invisible creatures. I am partial to tanglefoot bags. Probably the most effective low level item.

    Druids

So, what are the main advantages of Wild Shape? After re-reading about the ability, it appears that the main advantage is you just gain the STR, CON, and DEX of the animal, and that is it!. Correct me if I am wrong, but you don't gain the special attacks from your new form (like improved...

    Druids

Well, I've decided to make a Druid for our next campaign, mainly because I've never played one before. We rolled our ability scores last night and we have 16, 15, 15, 14, 13, 11. Our campaign setting is a one of a winter world. The highest temperature is perhaps 1 degree Celsius in the...

    Tank Building: 101

I've just discovered that I am permitted to use all Complete books in addition to the PHB and DMG. I can use one non-core per level beyond those. Does this change any of the aforementioned builds?

    Tank Building: 101

Taking a non core class counts only once. If you take it again, it doesn't stack, so to speak. So, in other words, if I took a 2nd level in Knight, I could take a non core feat during the same level up.

    Tank Building: 101

Sorry about not mentioning what level we'd be going up to. But, that is because I really don't know how high we'd go. I'd say at least 15th. In addition, would it help if I mentioned that the DM said he prefers epic Good vs Evil type of campaigns, so Paladin is getting thrust into the...

    Tank Building: 101

Heya folks. We are starting a new adventure and I decided to build a tank. I haven't built a tank before, so I was wondering what tips everyone would be willing to share. Or you could share your experiences regarding other tank builds. How should ability points be distributed? What skills...

    Fighter's shouldn't have to suck

It seems like most opinions are for the original poster to optimize his character more so he would be on a more even playing field as the spellcasters. But what about the optimized spellcasters? I agree with the original poster that D&D is definitely geared more toward the spellcaster. If not...

Rogues vs undead, elementals, golems, etc.

Aren't Golems immune to spells or they have high SR? We do have an Artificer in the party, so the Bane weapon idea is a good one. The big problem we have is there really aren't any Brutes/Tanks in our group for the Rogue to aid in flanking and such.

Rogues vs undead, elementals, golems, etc.

What is a Rogue's best tactics against creatures immune to sneak attack? I was thinking about this the other day, and it just seems that a Rogue's best bet is to just stay away from these creature types and use ranged attacks. I can't think of any feat, skill, or one single magic item that...

    Min/max'ing Rogues!

I have a character who is currently a Changeling Rogue 5/Fighter 1/Warshaper 2. She kind of fell into my lap with this format, but, I gotta say that if you can incorporate Warshaper* into a Rogue someway, then do it. Not only do you get the +4 to Con and Ste, but you also get reach and fast...

    Initiative and Sneak Attack

Hey gang. Seems like Rogues have been a hot topic lately. So I'm gonna keep the ball rolling. I was wondering about this scenario: My dexterity based Rogue/Fighter has Two Weapon Fighting, Quick Draw, Weapon Finesse and Improved Initiative. Her ranged attacks are either Longbow or Darts...

    Define "Higher Ground"

Wow, what a difference of opinion. My DM said he would allow the fly spell to grant the +1 bonus to attack. Since their is no solid rule on this, I guess it will just be a houserule then.

    Define "Higher Ground"

The PHB states that you have a +1 attack modifier if you are attacking an opponent from higher ground. What exactly is higher ground? If I have Fly cast on a character, and he is, let's say, hovering 5 feet off the ground. Would that constitute being on higher ground and having a +1 attack...

    Trip with natural reach?

Thanks for the clarification dudes. I was rather certain that you didn't need to be threatened in order to make a trip attempt. But after reading your post, I began to doubt myself.

"Must have" feats for a Warshaper

Unfortunately, my DM won't allow Multi-Attack with the Warshaper. I do like the improved trip route though. I might as well take improved feint while I am at it, considering being a rogue and all. Thanks for the advice though... I'll keep at it regarding the Multi-Attack.

    Trip with natural reach?

As in, yes you can make a trip only if you are threatened? I can't make a trip if I am not threatened?
