I love my old realms. And if they are coming back with 5E, then I'll be back with them as well. I've always found the rants about old El to be nothing but childish ranting. So yes, he is a powerhouse, mage extraordinary and will probably always be a magintude more powerful than any PC out...

I had expected heavy armor to provide DR against weapons. Go figure. A shame they ditched all the ideas of Tome of Battle. Just using a bit of that would've made fighters more interesting.

Well, I'm downloading the playtest as I write this (thanks piratebay!). Would've done it earlier, but I just couldn't get it from the WotC provided link (then someone pointed me to google + torrent). Let's see what I get and I'll be back to write about me being wrong or right (hopefully wrong!)

I had always wondered just what could've happened to WotC for all the promised digital content on 4E to dissapear like that. Thanks for clearing that up.

Let's try a different approach then. Why in God's name would they risk using an OGL again? Last time they tried, the result was WotC losing it's monopoly on D&D.

50% of the price has little to do with the paper itself, 10-20% I'd believe. The other 30% is all about actually getting said book to you. Shipping to stores, shelve space, etc.

I just can say that I've learnt from my mistakes. I'm not buying any rule books in physical media. That only works for novels. So, it's either ebooks or nothing for me regarding 5E.

just going to help Pathfinder? Honestly I find this business decision of WotC to be very hard to understand. As things are right now, Pathfinder owns 3.5E and fixing what 3.5E was actually about (feats & vancian magic) feels like a very BAD idea to me. The fact that they are so very concerned...
