Quite often for us. We do like to role play, but we're never so serious about it that we can't also be ourselves with each other while we play. This is a group of all friends, not just people who are together only to play D&D, so that may play into it.

I'd keep A, and use the storm in B as an encounter in and of itself. You can have the storm be a danger that they have to face and have them act appropriately to protect themselves and save the ship.

I have one of the original Endless Quest books (Dungeon of Dread). It's decent for what it is, but I always enjoyed the Fighting Fantasy books, especially the Sorcery! collection, much more. Still, nice to see these coming out again. I'm sure I'll buy some of them for my son.

Only 1 so far, and that wasn't a full-fledged battle. It was for the group I was DMing for HotDQ, and it was early on where they only have to do so much damage to run the dragon off for the time being.
