I think that's entirely why they kept the team small and hired out the work to freelancers. So they don't have to cut people left and right.

My players, some of whom DM and have DDI subscriptions in the past, had not heard of the tool yet. One would assume it is only the most hardcore involved so far and once there is an official release it will be on the WOTC site and get a lot more attention.

Man it was so much easier to argue on the internet in previous editions when you could just say 'I think most players would agree with me that.. [insert personal opinion that no one agrees with]'. Now ya really have to work hard to deny the available evidence.

I think your snark detector is broken. I am genuinely interested if the game is fun at high levels. But I want actual informed opinions based on play through a variety of levels, not an off the cuff judgement based on an inaccurate skim of the rules.

Oh yeah, no one ever gets attacked more than once between their turns, no one ever gets a run of bad rolls, the DM never rolls two crits in a row. This is entirely a game of player skill, and definitely one that people should feel SUPER superior and condescending about.

That's right, the playtest and surveys had a significant lack of input from people who didn't care, people who don't actually play, forum trolls, online know-it-alls, the incredibly lazy; you know the heart and soul of Dungeons and Dragons fandom.

It's more or less true of every character. If you are a dex fighter and the bad guys super magic weapon does not happen to be a rapier.. When I DM I try to go for half loot that is just what characters want and half random stuff that I think is fun or might inspire some new tactics.

I am only a little ways in but so far: Best: All the inspiration. So many ideas. Worst: The 14 year old boy who lives in my heart was a little sad to see the Marilith can now afford some chest armor.

Until the DMG is released of the DM rules updated we have no idea if they correlate well. I think you would be best off taking one of the humanoid monsters in the DMG and reskinning it or altering it minorly to make your new monster instead of statting up a PC and trying to make it be a monster.

What are you afraid your players will take you to court because your kobolds didn't act like the ones in the book? Anyone can get as crazy as they want with their setting even the stats in the book can be completely ignored if you want. The MM is there for people who don't want to make up...
