I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

You know, I have to say, regardless of rather or not we can agree on a topic, this is hands down the most helpful and knowledgeable forum crowd I have come across. Period. Thanks guys.

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I looked at that a while back. I have so much 1st and 2nd ed. books on the shelf that I didn't pay it much mind. Is it that much different or just a clone?

Thanks for all your suggestions. Some of these I had thought of but most I had not. :D

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I've been thinking about what a lot of you have said while I was at work today and I think the skills, feats and the way some of the classes are handled is all I really like about pathfinder. I feel like I'm playing an RPG based on a video game and I don't really care for video games. I'm a fan...

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement but I have to admit that I like the way they cleared up the back stab so its easier to determine when it was legal and when it wasn't.

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I ran them through D0 Hollows Last hope a while back and figured it would make since to go ahead and go into D1 Crown of the kobold king since it was next in succession. I modified the opening of the story slightly since they would have already been familiar with the town and D1 reads as though...

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

That's pretty much what I have planned. I never cared much for kits anyway. They always seemed to me to be a watered down version of the class it was based on. I use a battle mat either way. I like to be able to visualize what is going on and the battle mat is a great tool to do this. I just...

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

Something that is making my discussion difficult is the use of skills and feats in Pathfinder. I like them a great deal and can appreciate how much of the clunkiness they help alleviate. I may be being to ambitious right now but I think I will be seeing if there is a way to retrofit some of...

Nearing 100000 members - How did you find En World?

I haven't been here very long, or very often. I was looking for a 3.5 conversion of barrier peaks and google directed me here to get it. I liked it, though I haven't used it yet.

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

Boy, you guys are really making me want to do this. It's funny you should mention the hacklopedias. I've always wanted to play hackmaster, I'm a big fan of KODT and I have a dwarven rogue named knuckles, but I've been told it is more of a goof on old school; role-playing and that has always put...

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I am really leaning that way. If I can get my guys to go for it I might just go back to it. I play a blend of the two. Do you distinguish between 1st and 2nd?

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I've been into Pathfinder for a little while now and I'm just not getting it. I played a mix or AD&D 1st and 2nd ed forever and I love the raw and grittiness of it. Every time we sit down to play Pathfinder I keep feeling like something is missing. Like Pathfinder is just too polished or...
