    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

Care to join in Cringer? There are plenty of Vestiges to go around. Pick a Vestige, find the classes that fill it's role then steal and modify class features/powers of the apropriate level, it's pretty simple!

Andras, The Grey Knight Level: 15 Role: Defender Class Features: Wolf Mount. Ghostly Armoury, Mark of ApathyWolf Mount: As a standard action you can summon or dismiss a ghostly black wolf to ride on. Instead of using the normal riding rules, increase your speed to 8 and your size...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

From the looks of things we may need to swap some Vestiges up or down a level if we are to get each role at each level. I'll hold off doing anything level specific for the moment while I'm working on Andras, until we get it sorted. I'd also suggest we take a few liberties when assigning...

Sorry, you're right. Weapon Focus doesn't, although any extra damage form a Superior Proficiency does.

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

I wouldn't mind an explanation of the logic behind including recharge powers. I've provisionally split the Vestiges form the ToM into the 7 levels I suggested (it's on the Wiki) and the fit nicely, 4-5 per level so we can cover each role with some room to spare.

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

OK, the nay's have it. Replace Class Features but keep the new DCs... I'll take the old table out the Wiki. Another idea... make the recharge power an Augmentation. It doesn't exactly fit with the replacing at-will/encounter/daily abilities and we are a little low on augments now we've removed...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

Didn't realise the Pact Augmentations weren't free with the feat. I guess giving them away may have balance issues, but on the other hand this makes binder specialists more reliable, rather than hoping they don't get nerfed for the day by failing a skill roll. Looking at it in hindsight, I'd...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

You know what... I love it! But I think regular vestiges should be normal rituals. Some seperate group ritual rules would be fantastic, and including Vestiges in that would be natural. Lord Kiwi, P.S. I don't claim to be an expert but I've been doing some formatting on the Wiki. I've also...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

Something else I would suggest changing is the DC for the bindings. Use the chart on page 42 of the DMG and make it a Moderate check DC to bind and a Hard check DC to get a single Pact Augmentation (further augmentations are gained through feats). The results would be... Vestige Lvl Bind...

    Power Specific Feats, critique, ideas

Magic Missile Mastery seems fine to me. Things like Weapon Focus and Superior Weapon Proficiency will provide a damage boost to nearly all your powers... and they multiply up for x[W] powers. MMM just adds an average of 2 (or 4) to one specific power. Sacrificial Blast is overpowered though...

    Power Specific Feats, critique, ideas

I've been working on some 'meta-power' feats along the lines of the old meta-magic feats. In my case I said you could apply them to anything after taking the feat once but they where either perminent (i.e. energy substitution), cost AP (i.e. Twin Spell) or had a drawback (i.e. Focused Magic: +2...

I think he wants to merge those feats into the pact augmentations, which makes sense. We can always do both, so they have a minimum required power slot and you need a feat to avoid losing your over powers.

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

I'd agree with using up powers. As for the Paragon Path, maybe it can be saved, it just needs some work IMO. One thing we should add is a minimum level slot required for each power the vestige grants. This makes binding multiple vestiges (using the Paragon Path) easier to adjudicate and maybe...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

I like Eldritch Lord's ideas for feats. It's a nice compromise between what I want and what ziegander wants imo. I don't think you need to call them multiclass feats, after all they aren't exactly the same as regular multiclass feats.... and then you don't have to worry about the Binder class...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

The fighter can't become a controller for as long as they like, it requires cash, time and the risk of it going wrong. If you can accept that, then maybe if you get a bad pact it happens your way, replacing powers, as well as giving suggested modifications to the character's...

Warder (Arcane Defender) - Levels 1-3 [Updated 7/7]

I've added level 3 powers, they are all based on paladin or fighter powers of the same level, but modified for use with wards.

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

That looks great. I'd suggest that the at-will/encounter/daily powers only replace the highest level available power of the user... so they keep access to their other abilities to avoid being one trick ponies for the encounter. It also means if you use the daily ability of the vestige you have...

    Monster Racial Feats

The thing is, Dwarves may be proficient in multiple weapons but they will only use one. And proficiency may be +2 to hit but I generally assume you'd always use a weapon you are proficient in. Saying that, I think I'm getting my 3E / 4E weapon size rules in a twist. Using a War Pick as a medium...

    Monster Racial Feats

These two seem a little weak. The Hobgoblin bonus seems incredibly situational... only useful if you play a goblin heavy campaign. The poison bonus could do a little upgrade, say +3 or +4. If you assume a balanced racial feat could grant +1 AC, then it protects you from 5% of damage taken. This...

    D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

That sounds better than my idea to make a class of it. By my understanding Rituals are designed so that they are useful to cover gaps in a party... not got a Rogue? Use Knock, otherwise just get the rogue to do it, it's quicker and cheaper. Binder rituals could do the same thing for combat...
