    Improved Charge?

Is there a feat in print or in anyone's house rules the enhances a Charge attack option? If so, what does it do? If not, what should it do?

    Spell DC Variant

Has anyone ever thought of changing Spell DCs to 10 plus your Ability score modifier plus 1/2 your caster level (rounded up)? You could throw out the Heightened Spell metamagic feat and it would make Spell DCs similar to most other attack forms that calculate DCs.

    New Full-round Attack

I just allowed an opposite mechanic for Fighting Defensively. Fight Offensively When engaging an opponent with a melee attack you can opt to suffer a -4 penalty to your AC and recieve a +2 bonus to your melee attacks until your next turn.

    Attacking Body Parts

Here is a system I use in my games: Called Shots You may perform a Called Shot as a Full Round action that provokes Attacks of Opportunity. A Called Shot can be performed with a melee weapon or unarmed strike on an opponent within a threatened square, or with a ranged weapon or attack on an...

    Changing Item Creation

You might check out this post of mine: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=132193 I consolidated all the creation feats into one, which not many people agree with. You mgiht still be able to alter it to use with XPs. I like the idea of adding the Craft(Magic Item) skill to the creation...

    Consolidated Metamagic

I see your point Pyrex. I failed to remember that different caster classes focused on abilities other than INT. I'm not sure if I have a problem with that in my game. I have given certain advantages to the Sorcerer and Wizard classes to make them more opposed. These changes make Wizards better...

    Consolidated Metamagic

I'll admit that the DC msut be evaluated very carefully or the whole system goes out of whack. When I designed the mechanic, I wanted it to be difficult to cast your highest level spell with metamagic, hence the high DC. I also wanted you to be able to cast lower level spells with metamagic very...

    Throw out XPs!

Looks like it still needs some tweaking. I hadn't reaaly looked at it that closely, neither had my players. Oddly enough, they hardly ever look for ways to min/max the system. I'll have to look more closely at all the item groups. Maybe make permament items have a higher base cost. I wonder if...

    Consolidated Metamagic

I don't think I'm the only player frustrated with the Metamagic feats in 3.x. From what I have observed playing D&D, no one really ever picks them. So I decided to design a mechanic for them that made the metamagic system apealling but balanced. I have played with this system for a while and I...

    Throw out XPs!

The point system works like the chart you displayed. Basically you get 10 times your new level in Creation points each time you advance a level. This could be adjusted for different results if you wanted the creators to have less or more potential. My players responded well to it. I think they...

    Item Creation w/o XP

You might check out my first post here on EN World: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=132193 It describes a mechanic for making magic items without XPs. Of course it relies on a system with no XPs at all, but I think it can be adapted to a game with XPs.

    True Dispel Magic

I disagree. I think Mordenkainen's Disjunction is a very powerful spell. It acts like a Dispel Magic with a 40' radius burst with an automatic dispel, no rolling involved. Not only that, it can possibly dispel magic items permamently with a failed Will save. Oh, and don't forget the ultimate...

    Throw out XPs!

I have always disliked the XP system in D&D for two reasons. The first reason is that it seems to always emphasize rewarding the kill, resulting in bloodthirsty players. I realize that 3.5 has offered XP rewards for overcoming challenges, generalizing the term to include tasks other than...
