    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist First Impressions

The keys definitely could put the heist in Heist! Dropping glimpses or word of the keys before the reveal, and picking just the right locations/defenses.....!! I’m still thinking the final lair is in need of an expansion. It feels to me like all the villains are aware and involved no matter...

    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist First Impressions

The keys are a great idea and opportunity to play with the other lairs! I read all last night and I’m headed towards using all four villains pushing the players. I’m hoping to beef up player motivation and simultaneously play with all the toys the book provides. The keys would help push players...

    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist First Impressions

DMs guild would be a great spot for your home brew if that’s how you go. I’m in the market for an epic heist!

The dive into a tomb? And negotiate with a boss defender. The location isn’t exactly inspirational either.

    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist First Impressions

I’m just realizing that there’s no Heist at the end of Dragon Heist. It’s bumming me out. We had a Great session 0 and I can’t wait to run the build up with the Stone and all the city fun, but it doesn’t deliver an epic heist as advertised. I feel like the DM’s Guild would be a great place to...

Pulling Off a Dragon Heist in Waterdeep: The Review

I’d like to see a DM Guild adventure that actually has a heist-like finale, where a map is given the the players and they plan an assault on the treasure. The given ending falls a little flat and doesn’t give the advertised heist!

After Waterdeep what should be the next FR adventure?

I’m guessing they will release an epic tier throw down that links all the previous adventures that stopped at level 15. The “Great Old One” rises unexpectedly from his slumber to challenge all of creation. A call is put out to all high level adventures to cross the planes and challenge him.

    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist First Impressions

We played our session O tonight and set off for Waterdeep with our new patron Volo G. I’m really impressed with how broad and flexible the adventure could run and how inovative the adventure structure is. It’s setting and adventure blend is really optimized. I’m excited to play our next game!

In Which I Attempt a Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Photoshoot

Is there one set of missions that the book shows you how to flavor, or a set of missions for each villain?

In Which I Attempt a Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Photoshoot

Do the villains run different missions? Meaning do they have four(ish) fresh adventures?? Each landing on level 5 ? Or one adventure they show you how to flavor ??

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Hot Off The Press

I’m thinking I’ll end up getting the maps eventually?? And the Syrinscape sound track (with NPC quoted text from some familiar faces!)

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Hot Off The Press

I wish they had alt covers for these early released adventures too! Reguardless I’ll be picking this up!

Speculating on the Future of D&D

The Ravnica book will supply a system to create adventure with the guilds as a mechanism for its structure. It’s not a typical adventure but more of a way to build a adventure?? I’m likely explaining this poorly....

Speculating on the Future of D&D

They’re considering Eberron to be the prototype for some future settings. I’d bet lore heavy settings will be shotgunned out. Dragonlance, greyhawk, dark sun and spelljammer will land on the Guild in 2019. All building off player input that leads to print in 2020. Also a Sigil multiverse...

Core Rules Alternative Cover Gift Set

There is also a lot of books being passed down to the next generation. I know my original copies will be a boon to the lucky kid (my son) who ends up with them.

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

I feel like the feywild has been consistently supported and is ripe for the picking. Not so much some of the others. Just my fleeting thought. I’d love to say the same for a manual of the planes but that support feels only resent?

Two New Settings For D&D This Year

In the last game of The Stream of Many Eyes, Mike M was the DM in a one shot featuring their heavyweight players. Mike seemed almost giddy to have players from the different planes. Dark Sun, Nine Hells, .... possible nod to a manual of the planes? (Strix’s!!)

Second Dungeons & Dragons Product for Fall 2018: Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage

Wotc seems to be building a bookshelf of material designed to provide a DM with the nuts and bolts to fantasy adventure. Maps, locations, npcs, etc, for all your gaming needs. (Mostly) And yes, FR is the backdrop. But now I can add urban material to my jungle and giant and dragon and vampire and ...
