This is a good thing. You don't get points for starting at level 1. If you are experienced and want to start at a higher level then that should be normalized.

More like telling a cleric don't expect any special treatment from your god, or initiation into greater mysteries, until you have proven yourself capable of handling basic pantheon responsibilities. But hey, different people are bugged by different things because of how the rules either support...

Makes perfect sense to me. You don't get to meet the boss until you have proven you've got the stuff. I personally like the idea that warlocks often don't know who their patrons are until, well, until it is usually too late.

This is pretty spot on. Sadly wotc seems to be going the other way. They know that all the money comes from DMs but they are trying to monetize players, instead of trying to encourage players to become DMs.

Some feats are better than other feats so you should give the less good feats to everyone for free? Yes, that's an option. I can see how players would like this option. Players will always say yes to more stuff. Coming from a DM angle this just feels excessive.

I don't get why people use it. PF2 has enough feats as it is. You don't all need the same feats to be members of the same group or anything. If people want to multiclass they can pay the feat.

Ranged fighters have a big drawback - they cannot protect squishier members of the party. They may be strong individually, but they are often the weak link in a party. Plus fighting with a ranged weapon is boring. I don't think ranged weapons are overpowered, I think dex is overpowered. Also...

Changeling are a bad idea. They are way too powerful in a make life really unpleasant for DMs kind of way. Plus you already have 2 fey races - elves and gnomes. Don't need another one. Want to lean into the idea of a changeling? Make "switched at birth" a background for half-elves.

Oooh I've missed this discourse. What is the word on the street? More newbies coming, or people staying away? I think there is a big audience for an Asia based setting, particularly one made by people of Asian decent, but I'm only guessing.
