    Party face build

I got this concept when I was trying to build Indiana Jones, and then I realized I like spellcasting way too much to be primarily rogue. Half elf Archaeologist background Level 1: rogue 8/14/14/10/13/17 Level 2: knowledge cleric Level 3: bard Arcana (expertise) History (expertise)...

D&D 5E Best gish (PHB only)

The only small problem I see with your idea is that you can’t take warcaster at paladin 1. The DEX idea is cool but I don’t like the stats for it since you still need a 13 STR to multiclass paladin. Thank you though!

I was just pointing out that you can get away dumping a Stat with a dwarf nature cleric that you’d normally need to prioritize as a human

Unfortunately, the awesome melee cantrips would be unavailable to me (PHB only).

All I was looking for was a single classed cleric who can use his WIS instead of any other stat for everything.

Shillelagh from magic initiate is considered a druid spell, and therefore keys off of wisdom. That’s not too useful for a warlock. I think the best pre-hexblade blade pact warlock is still fighter 1/warlock X.

How is the nature cleric? With the relatively low level cap, a hill dwarf could start with 16’s in CON and WIS and ditch STR, since dwarves have that heavy armor loophole. With shillelagh, everything keys off of WIS, making this character concept very SAD.

Thank you for this suggestion. Only thing is you get CON saves from both sorcerer and fighter.

Hey Blue! Miss you dude, how are things in River Edge? Give my best to the gang! I had thought about a paladin 2/bard or sorcerer. Heck, if we have a decent amount of playing time at level 8, paladin 2/ valor bard 6 has a nice capstone! I had also thought about the old fashioned “hexblade”...

D&D 5E Best gish (PHB only)

I guess my problem with EK, especially when being restricted to using the basic array for stats, is that I can never figure out how to prioritize INT enough that I’m not gimping the fighter. I’ve played a basic array Eldritch Knight in the past, and he was awesome. But I never used an attack...

Yup. Crazy. The most useful character too!

In addition to only using the PHB, were using the standard array for stats (NOT point buy!). This game will go to level 8. Definition of a gish for this argument: someone who can decently cast some spells as well as hold their own in combat.

I’m looking forward to this! Personally, the two closest classes to being able to imitate the god wizard, IMHO, are the lore bard and arcana cleric. Again, JMHO.

If there is, it probably doesn’t fit the god wizard archetype.

    Looking for Pregenerated D&D Characters?

I totally agree. One of the appeals of D&D is that it isn’t a video game.

Dragons breath on a familiar sounds so freaking awesome. I know it’s outisde the scope of this thread, but doing it with a chain lock/sorcerer with an improved familiar would be so freaking cool!!

D&D 5E Trying to build a pole arm fighter

I actually think defense fighting style is better than great weapon fighting fighting style now. Now that I understand moving in combat more in this edition, a 5’ step provokes AoO, so stepping back after getting sentinel isn’t really worth it.
