Yes, but only for damage. The problem is the to hit bonus. However, if you want to play a dwarf with halberd I think warlord would be excellent. A -2 to hit isn't such an issue when you can grant attacks without being adjacent to the target..

It's the same, "Lancia". You can specify, "Lancia da cavaliere" (Mounted warrior's spear). About the trident...flavour. I don't like it ;)

I don't want a spear variation. I want a good one handed spear. ;) Another strange thing to me is that's not a thrown weapon, because I'm italian, and in my language: Spear = Lancia to Throw = Lanciare So the spear has, inside its name, its meaning. But not in d&d. T_T

I totally agree about the quarterstaff. I love this weapon and I thought to do a Tempest Fighter with it but I would lose all the weapon specific effects... And spear? I want to build a spear & shield PC...my own spartan! But...the spear...T_T

Uhm...why don't we get a look to the older edition? Which classes had sneaky class skills? If I do remember well, there was: -Rogue -Ranger -Monk -Bard (?) -Swordsage -Scout Only Bard had lost theese skills in the new edition. But look at all the other classes, aren't them strikerish?

I agree with Fanaelialae. Doing as you said the monk would have an incredible moving option at will. A bit overpowered I think.
