    D&D 2E 3.x Spells with 2e sensibilities?

Well of course. That would only make sense. Excellent! I have a baseline and at least someone in agreement... Guess I will go from there. Slainte, -Loonook.

What would you say is the biggest problem with Wizards, Clerics, Druids, and other "Tier 1" Spellcasters?

Let us see the skill checks required for various beasties: Arcana: Constructs, Dragons, Magical Beasts. Dungeoneering: Aberrations, Oozes. Local: Humanoids (Native local humanoids probably) Nature: Animals, Fey, Giants, Monstrous Humanoids, Plants, Vermin. Religion: Undead. Planes: Outsiders...

Challenge: Take a classic fairy tale, add a twist, make it adventure-ready

The Sword in the Stone - The Stone is a Warforged Paladin who must seek out a man great enough to lead the kingdom. Three Little Pigs: The Wolf is a Druid who has been assaulting the lands of the Pigfolk. Dare you ride out on your boarhounds and defeat the evil in his twisted grove? The...

What Exactly Is the Issue With the Shadowcaster and the Truenamer Classes?

Well, there have been plenty of discussions on both, but probably the best info on fixing Shadowcasters comes from GITP's handbook found here. Truenamer requires quite a lot to fix it due to the ridiculously high DCs to use/low DCs to defeat the powers. Slainte, -Loonook.

    D&D 2E 3.x Spells with 2e sensibilities?

Interesting Jester. So am I understanding that this would change if, for example, you were in a game where Stormwrack would make sense as a source for 'common' spells? Slainte, -Loonook.

Magic for the Masses, An Age of Industrial Enlightenment

120,000 will get you a Cheap Keep and Basic Residential Facilities for 60 individuals with 24k to spare. That is around the price of 56 0th level Wands, or 29 1st level EWs. Now you will have to pay for student travel (or let them come find you, venturing on the road as 0th/1st level...

What would you say is the biggest problem with Wizards, Clerics, Druids, and other "Tier 1" Spellcasters?

Well, your suggestions are a lot like Specialty Priests with more common weapon selections. Sadly, the designers of 3e found specialty priests to be too complex and wonky for standard play. I do miss the Specialist Priest's variance and would love to return to the old Sphere system myself...

What would you say is the biggest problem with Wizards, Clerics, Druids, and other "Tier 1" Spellcasters?

Yes, but that then provides for the situational tracking. Pretty much I see it like this: If you absolutely, positively are stuck in an area where bat guano, a live spider, or a glass rod and wool are not available? You can prepare the spell as need be. Would also allow for Eschew to Eschew a...

What would you say is the biggest problem with Wizards, Clerics, Druids, and other "Tier 1" Spellcasters?

The 10 best ideas I have seen on this and boards to remedy most of the abuse come down to these: 1.) Get rid of the Spell Component pouch, make Eschew Materials and Natural Spell into Metamagic feats that works like Still and Silent Spell, and make components count. 2.) Polymorph-like spells...

Magic for the Masses, An Age of Industrial Enlightenment

The problem with including the FPB is that, well, it goes against SRD items that are similar. While there are tricks to make this work, we must also take into account the overall cost for purchasing the FPB. 2000 GP right? If we're working with a family of laborers in normal proportions of...

    D&D 2E 3.x Spells with 2e sensibilities?

Ladies, Gentlemen, Children of All Ages (Allowed to Post on ENWorld), I've been looking for a possible source for spells listed by the 2e 'rarity' system for 3.x. Sadly my Googling skills are weak OR no one has ever actually completed one. I'm also looking for any possible conversions of...

    Economy and D&D

Well gird your loins and be prepared to be mildly disappointed! The system is pretty simple. The Random Caravan sheet contains exactly what it says on the tin. Put in your total carried caravan weight and it will generate a series of up to 19 random goods that are carried at random amounts by...

    Economy and D&D

I have been working on a little system to take into account caravans and delivery of goods using Magical Society: The Silk Road. So far? Pretty nice. I will probably be posting it in the near future to have people knock it around a bit with instructions. Slainte, -Loonook.

A (Typewritten) D&D Review from 1974 by Arnold Hendrick

Adjusted for inflation it comes out to around 18.50. So a slight discount from today's pricing. Slainte, -Loonook.

Why did you have to post this? Now all the Kornkobs will start an edition war over what version of Modern Warfare in Miniature is best!

Rule ideas for Heroic Sacrifice of PC

Or you could just go with E6's concept of the Death Flag and shift it from "Able to die" to "Able to Die Permanently". Since you seem to not have Conviction points or similar just allow for a level appropriate boost. We do something similar and also include pinnacle battles. These are the...

    Economy and D&D

Yes they can. By the same token you can make a nice living (and better than nice) selling quality wooden items or trinkets of your own... As long as you have someone to sell them to. As I have stated upthread (and on my site in the article discussing the rough draft of the Manor Generator) I...

    Economy and D&D

Yes. But we are also working in a defined cash society. If you don't agree you can always have a laborer who is being fed by his workforce and receiving 1 sp/day have his upkeep covered. If a farmer is growing their own food? Consider them as being covered to the 2 GP/month standard also...

    Pathfinder 1E Master Components List?

Dear Gentle ENWorlders, Google has failed me somehow. Our group's spellcaster and I were discussing spell component availability affecting regional casters and came to a sudden realization: There seems to be no master list of spell components in print. I've looked around the Internet for a...

    Economy and D&D

Most peasants living in subsistence did have a croft to grow their meager food. Also, depending on location, a meal could be provided to the laborer alongside their work just to prevent the need for an extended period of leave to find lunch. Of course he may do any number of additional...
