    Splash damage question

sigh. look I guess tans my question is this. 1 do you understand that fireballs and splash weapons mostly follow the same mechanics? 2 do you understand how utterly broken I'n terms of game mechanics what you seem to. e insisting on is? I guess why do you not have an issue with fireball...

I appolpgize seems you did ask there and they also used the fireball example :)

    Splash damage question

no. using my example earlier of the 5d6+7 bomb. you would do 48 damage to a large creature using this view of the rules. the max dmage if a direct hit is only 42. where I'n the wording of the bit I linked does it suggest a creature is hit multiple times. it says alll creatures I'n the splash...

    Splash damage question

I'm not so worried as I don't think it works that way. there is no incentive for the alchemist to score a derect hit under the rules being proposed here. I will re read the wording o. splash weapons. but I had always understood they worked similar to burst spells. alright here it is from the...

    Splash damage question

right but that's 70 pts of damage on a weapon that on a direct hit does 37. I'm sorry missing my target does more damage? that makes no sense. but if you can't see this breaks internal game logic the rest of the game follows I'm not sure there's any point I'n discussing it. all I'm going to say...

    Splash damage question

maybe I'm missing something. but. I was understanding we were discussing splash weapons hitting every square of a large creature? or I'n my example a huge one. a 5d6 bomb thrown by a 22 int alchemist does 12 splash damage. following the suggestion were having a huge creature will get hit 9...

    Splash damage question

except nothing in any of the games other mechanics works like that. pr the 25 pt firebal you just hit that ogre with would do 100 damage and we know it doesn't. it would make large monsters trivial for splay weapons. by level 10 an alchemist can easily do 10 or so as the splash damage for a bomb...

    Splash damage question

right but bombs are splash weapons also what I. trying to say is doing the way you suggest is obscenely strong. given bombs are splash weapons most large creatures will just die instantly from a single bomb. the game applies damage from effects once per creature not for every square it takes up.

Some ideas for a Monk Fix

in my case I went with balanced stats and 16 14 14 10 14 10 so T at lvl 9 I have 18 str 18 dex on 20 pt buy. I know the traditional problems of the class but so far dr has been my only issue. I actually pinned a nabasu for 3 rounds while my party killed his friend last session. unfortunately...

Some ideas for a Monk Fix

in the current rules the extra attack is o ly with a full attack while flurry. my lvl 9 monk with PA is something like 13 13 13 8 8 for attacks 1d8 +11 with temple sword. +23 or so to trip with the sword. really its been a fun character I don't feel underpowered though dr irks me. my AC is 32...

    Splash damage question

if the ogre for example is the primary target of your bomb. he takes no splash damage at all. he will take the primary damage from the bomb. secondly lvl 4 alchemists throw exatly 1 Bomb a turn. rapid shot and twf etc have no effect on bombs rate of fire. there is a higher level discovery swift...

    Splash damage question

if a large or larger creature is hit by a splash attack it only takes the damage once. same as a large creature getting hit with fireball single application of damage.

Has anyone played a Summoner for more than a couple of sessions?

no I didn't. when I made the character I picked ti to be a fae knight on my mystic flying pegataur the summoner let's me do this so I had feats for mounted combat and casting in armor. I had the arcane weapon feat but no PA yet. I had found at lvl 8 the hound archon struggled a little his attack...

Has anyone played a Summoner for more than a couple of sessions?

mine lasted 6 sessions in a lvl 9 game. sadly a Pc activated an item from the story while I was separated and being assaulted by the main BBEG. half the party was blinded and my backup suddenly vanished. I learned a few good things though. firtst by this level the base summoning is pretty...

    The Ultimate "Splat" Books?

the ninja mostly seems ton play like a rogue with free invisibility. I suspect in the end the gunslinger will be it's own class but well see what the updates for round 2 show.

    The Ultimate "Splat" Books?

they have said their product line is set til the end of 2012. it's unlikely any of what you suggested will even be dis used. they have also said while they are interested boyhood pic and psionics are a long ways off. for epic it's pretty clear only a tiny portion of the player base is interested...

Redundant Rogue Talents? And Major Magic.

as friend of the dork said, rogues get camouflage as a rogue talent. I don't t know that hide in plain sight is the necessary balance pivot for good stealth. our current game is in mwangi expanse I had planned on a lvl 6 halfling rogue with a blowgun with camouflage he would have been +21 or...
