    Most ridiculously overpowered game

Highest Game I ever ran was between levels 22-36. People for some reason or another didnt end up having the same levels. I want to blame this on them not recording experience, but my sister and brother claim is was because I would give Xp out for things like people getting me a pop or a snack...

Gotta Have Them All Gamers -- a problem?

I gotta have them all. Im a collector. Though I end up using something from everything, and I have time to read them all. Even if its not cover to cover, I read the part I find interesting. I only lobby to get them included, if there is no campaign reason not to have them. For instance, ive...

When your weapons won't beat the enemy?

Im very honest with my players that out right combat isnt always the way to beat a foe. So my players know to looks for ways to beat a seemingly impossible foe. Especially one too powerful for them to logically beat.

A road not taken: What if there had been no 4E

I could have seen them releasenig a revised 3.5. That included Errata. This would have cleared some things up. Maybe another UNearthed Arcana, more PHB's and DMGs plus tons of more Fareun regional books along with new Campaign settings. Honestly I once wrote up a list of all the new 3.5 books I...

hypathetical 5e from YOU...Forked Thread: Academic Studies Recent Edition Wars

Keep the 3.5 ruleset. Druid Wild shapes right at 1st level. Psionics are Core. Feats that get better as you gain more levels. For instance you wouldnt take great cleave, great cleave is a natural part of cleave once you gain so many levels. I like the large number of skills in 3.5, but I like...

    Games you won't play

Inominae, BESM 1 or 2e, NWOD, Monte CooK world of darkness (though elements from it are neat, the setting is lame), D&D 4e, any d20 derivative that expands the basic level of play path 20th level without using epic rules. For instance a game that insists to have base classes go to 25th level...

Experts on other systems, why aren't they d&d?

To me D&D also has to do with the rules aspects. While each edition is different from the last there needs to remain enough of a similarity that its still recognizable. I think 4e fails in that regard and is not D&D. If I wanted to play a game where everyone was a total awesome guy with kewl...

Does piracy offer anything good? (aside from the bad)

To me its like a preview. I dont like to use PDFs, and will never pay for them. But take the Old World of Darkness. I love that game and didnt get into it till like 2000. Those books are rare or sold for insane prices. If I can get them free I will. And in this case its the only option, whether...

    Piracy

If I cant find a book to buy it, cause its out of print i'll pirate it. Not ashamed of it either. If the companies want my money they need to keep things in print. Or if I cant find it for a decent price. For instance im trying to find a copy of Armageddon for at least Cover price used or new, I...

    Elder Evils question

Simple, do a write up that basically is a rip off of the regular version call it something like Elder Evil Dark Speech and change the wording to not reguire ability damage and its for Elder Evils only. And just by default say that the elder evils use your home brewed version. Players and fiends...

Have you had a problem with "character dumping"

It got to be a problem in one of my games so th next game had a house rule that if a character died the players new character came it at average party level, if they quit the character he came in at level 1. Stopped people from just dumping characters.

What are you doing with the money you aren't spending on gaming products?

I buy lots of comics and video games now. However, i'd still be buying alot of RPG stuff if I had a group to play with. But since I moved ive cut down on it. Though I still buy Mutants and masterminds stuff and the occassional eden studio's release.

What Did You Want Fourth Edition to be Like?

I wanted 4th edition to be nothing more than another revision of 3e. 4th edition as it sits might as well be a new game. I like some of what pathfinder has done. The classes with less dead levels and the combat manuever ratings. I hate condencing of skills in Pathfinder. Fine for Mutants and...

    Any brilliant tactical suggestions?

Doesnt look like anyone there is capable of casting Ice Assassin from Frost Burn. I'd wait the 8 hours it takes to cast it and make a God. If your DM is that nice of course. Though Im not looking up the particulars of it, but still. Worth looking into.

    Killing Deities

Yes actually. The players ranged from levels 27-36, party of about 5-6 depending on who could make it. One of my players one shoted Fraz-urb-lu, not a god i know, but still. All the while the rest of the party held off a group of about 100 mariliths. Seriously. And the players took out a...

What motivated you to purchase splatbooks for 3e?

Im the kind of player that loves boosts to power and options, options, options. You mention a book with new feats, templates, monsters and prestige classes and you had me.

Where is 4E incomplete? Forked: Does 4E have staying power?

3e you could play a monster right off the bat. Even if doing so was kinda hard to figure out LA. In 4e you cant. Unless WOTC makes more minotaur as a playable race articles. 4e lacks options. You cant deny it doesnt. What if someone wants to roleplay a Sculpter with no useful combat skills or...

I'm sorry, your character idea is too awful.

If a player wants to do something strange with a personality I warn them the others might just kill him. Had one player who's character was a coward and would run, the Archer in the group planted one between his shoulder blades and dropped him in one shot.

    1E/2E/OD&D, 4E, and finally 3E

    See I love 3.5 complexity.

[True/False] There is a point in every campaign when the PCs come to blows.

True for my group. Especially when we play OWOD. Sometimes resulting in players making new characters every session due to irate characters resorting to violence. In D&D, it tends to be more rare as the players resort to threats.
