D&D 5E Jocks and Nerds: If you like D&D, do you like ... the NFL Draft? (POLL)

I'll definitely be watching the draft. Also currently listening to local sports radio talking about the draft. I've found that following sports has more to do with where someone grew up and whether their family & friends followed sports than if they are a gamer or not.

Taking your history of posting into account, that's how you come across. I'm not going to get into a back and forth beyond that.

It most certainly was not clear, or did you miss the countless threads and numerous Sage Advice posts discussing it?

D&D 5E On rulings, rules, and Twitter, or: How Sage Advice Changed

I'll say up front that I love 5E. I've played every edition and it's my favorite. It's well-designed system that checks a lot of boxes for a lot of people. That said, I will also admit that it's tight enough to handle most interactions but loose enough to create discrepancies. Plus it's been...

D&D 5E Ruins of Symbaroum for 5E Kickstarter

I'm really close to backing this. I discovered the setting a little while ago when the preview for the 5E conversion was released. I'm always interested in darker, gritty settings that have unique mechanics and I really liked what I saw. This KS is really well done with a lot of great stretch...

D&D 5E Paladin and Ranger Are Backward

As has been discussed ad nauseum, the ranger is the only class that has abilities that simply don't function unless specific conditions that are solely in the hands of the DM are met. It's poor design and WotC knows it since they've been moving away from it ever step of the way.

Dragonlance Elmore's 'The Four Women of Dragonlance' Painting Is Finished

Dated is the word I was looking for. I love Elmore - some of his works are what brought D&D to life for me - but this one is a bit lackluster to me.

D&D 5E Paladin and Ranger Are Backward

That's fine, but it shouldn't be tied to specific favored enemies or terrain. That's one of the primary problems with the PHB ranger.

D&D 5E Paladin and Ranger Are Backward

I definitely wouldn't go this direction. This just exacerbates the problem of the ranger being highly reliant on the campaign/DM for its abilities to function. I'm firmly in the camp that the ranger needs a rework (although UA & Tasha's has helped a lot) but making their abilities more...

D&D 5E Paladin and Ranger Are Backward

At the minimum, the ranger needs to cast and prep spells like the paladin. That they have to choose known spells and the paladin, cleric, and druid do not is really inconsistent design.
