Is anyone going to AnonyCon in CT?

I don't know about you, but I had a great time. I'm looking forward to next year and another great weekend. If you have any suggestions or want to help make AnonyCon cool, please message/email me or post here.

Is anyone going to AnonyCon in CT?

I'll be there, but heck, I run the thing. I'd like to think it's a good Con, and I'd hope you can come and ask around. We aim to offer high-quality one-shot games to our attendees. Games like this sometimes seem a dying breed amongst all the Living stuff going on, but we strive to keep them...

Volunteer DM's..no incentives? Conventions off our backs?

I'm always interested in conversations like this, because for RPG focused conventions it is the judges that make or break the experience. Turning away players makes them not come back, and giving them a bad experience can do the same or worse. At AnonyCon I'm not able to have a Volunteer/GM...

    Mundane materials with magical qualities

Quicksilver Mercury (or Quicksilver) focuses the adaptability of each individual. Having quicksilver on one's person gives a +1 to Reflex saves when attempting to take half damage from an area effect. Bloodstone imbues the very life essence of its carrier with a hardiness beyond the natural...

    RPGA Tri-state Gameday?

You may want to look at the various RPGA and LG related yahoogroups, for more info on where cons are held in the area and when. In addition to ConnCon and AnonyCon there are a bunch of conventions listed on the Keoland and Bissel yahoogroups. I'm also happy to chat with you more about it, as I...

    Anyone played a Marshall?

I just started playing a Marshal, and right now the party is mostly 3rd level, with one or two at 4th. Haven't been in a fight yet, but it seems like this is a good class for somebody who wants a character with martial ability yet also interesting roleplaying and out-of-combat abilities. He's...

Running games for one (or two) PCs

Wicht: thanks for that guide. I have a bunch of Dungeon magazine games, RPGA things, and various other stuff I can run him through, but I've never tried to recalibrate them. Greatwyrm: Yes, I definitely will be using NPCs. I think he'll go Paladin, so having a Cleric along, maybe a wizard...

Running games for one (or two) PCs

I have a little brother (12 years old) who is into gaming, into following in my footsteps, and actually fairly competent at it (as some from around here can attest). He would love to get more gaming going on when we spend time together. I'm a decent DM when it comes to running stuff, but I'm a...

Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [IC]

Samuel rises somewhat slowly, looking about as if confused, and seems to be collecting his thoughts with his hands as he begins to speak softly. "I don't mind objecting to some of the terms of that Lemannus proposed, and I'd say the things we might want to fight for are the repayment of vis...

Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [OOC]

Samuel is qualified and willing to write LQs on Rego, Muto, Herbam and Terram. Only one that Marcus doesn't have, but good to spread the burden around.

Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [OOC]

The above books are what I am interested in. I can post it IC if you want when we get to that point. I have arranged them in order of preference, for Samuel. I will also propose what books I will be able to write to contribute, after others have voiced their preferences.

Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [IC]

A short man stands next, seeming a bit nervous. He has been watching the rest, and sweating somewhat as it got closer to his turn to introduce himself. Although probably only in his twenties, he has more than a few gray hairs and has a receding hairline. "Salvete sodales. I am, uh, Samuel...

Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [OOC]

Sorry about the delay. I'll try to post an introduction in the next 24 hours, and finalize my character. Since it's my first time, this is a somewhat daunting task, and many things have been stealing my attention recently.

Need a CR for Exploding Undead Template

I think the Fort saves are way too tough, and probably affect too many. What about making the Fort saves DC 15 and 18, and only affecting the adjacent squares of the undead, upon death. That seems much more reasonable, unless you are making very high CR undead in the first place.

Attribute Score Generation - How Do You Do It?

55 points? If you're using the system I think you are, that is a tremendous amount, isn't it? I don't think I've ever used weighted point buy with more than 36, and even those were hefty characters (but fun, in a Spycraft game). I usually keep the point buy between 28 and 36, which seems to work.
