Not familiar with MtG. With ur-dragon I mean the mother of dragons, the first. Like the One from M & BECMI. But should there not be a Bahamut as well (dislike that name, can't decide on another)?

Except when the official lore makes it a chore to adapt things to your own table and you don't have the time/inclination to go full homebrew.

It's not an avatar. Bahamut is a greater god in 4e (edit: if there's even such a distinction in 4e,ref Dave's post below). And you can say what you want reg. lore, the official stats are what they are.

They are not by Darlene, but by Robert Lazzaretti who also did the 1e Golarion map.

They don't need a patron to worship as such, but who do they pray to then, if the "barbarian God" is taken, being the patron of their blood enemies?

I can see that. But I like Corellon as patron of elves, Moradin as patron of dwarves etc. Becomes a bit stretched if Gruumsh then is 'viewed as patron by orcs'. Hmmm..

Good idea. Thinking a bit more about it, I think one of my problems is, who is then the barbarians' patron? Also Gruumsh?

Minor thread resurrection. Say I wanted Gruumsh to be worshipped by both orcs and barbarians and such (fury, bloodshed, battle, perseverance). But, I still want Gruumsh to be patron of orcs. And orcs and the barbarians are mortal enemies (think Uthgart from FR). How would you go about this? How...

Where should this discussion be had. Without agreeing to the opinion of the moderated post, it does seem to me that he gets moderated in retrospective. The banned words come from a finite list, and he actually didn't use any of them.

Straight xp Takes about 15 combats per lvl from 4th to 9th so far, 2-3 combats per session, add in some quest xp here and there. Five PCs. Edit: that's about 15 monsters of lvl equivalent CR, I mean.

Not sure it's what I prefer as it will take 30 years to complete the various intertwining campaign arcs I'm spending way too much time planning 🙃

We've been playing the current campaign for over 4 years, started at lvl 4 and reaching lvl 9 tomorrow (fingers crossed). Granted, we're busy adults that get to play too rarely, so a better gauge is the just short of 30 sessions we've had. I look forward to continuing the campaign. My greatest...

Then why does the DMG tell you to? Besides, "the game made gold worthless. so let's just stop handing out gold" is a crappy solution even on a good day. :rolleyes:

If monsters were very real you'd be spending some of that money on the best anti monster equipment available, and a market would emerge. So I don't think using real world analogies really solves anything.
