Free background music for games (revives)

Update: Added songs Hope for rebirth, Anxious Thoughts, Winter and Procession. Procession is sad, marchlike song with quite heavy feeling to it. Describes the situation when a military company returns to home town after hard battles. Winter combines orchestral elements to folkish percussion...

Thanks! I put up another one of the older projects called Frozen Silence. It contains improvised solo piano tracks: Frozen Silence I also missed few of the old songs on my first update on Essence, so there are few more songs there. Edit: I also added the Frozen Silence link to the first...

I know Philip Glass but those other names won't ring a bell. It seems I have some listening work to do :) I really do like Philip's works. -Michikawa

Have to check out Zork Nemesis soundtrack some time. Actually I was quite surprised that you knew Shinjuku Thief - I have met only one guy who has heard of the project before (excluding our game group). It's a project which should have more listeners, but for some reason it seems to have stayed...

    Free background music for games

So glad to hear you find the material enjoyable :) And yeah, I think that combat scenes are one of the places where music can play a really big part! Intense atmosphere can be created and enhanced with right songs even if the rhythm of the game wouldn't be that tight. -Michikawa

    Free background music for games

I recommend trying it - I have gotten so used to the background music in games that if I played a game without it, I presume it would feel a bit weird and probably a bit "hollow" also.

    Free background music for games

By the way, how much do you guys use music when you are the GMs? Do you rely on it much (almost constant background music), only in special situations (you have picked out the right songs for the right moments) or not at all (no background sounds or music)? Our group tends to use music quite...

    Homemade soundtracks for games

Thanks for the comments and glad to hear you like the material! :) And actually yes, they're completely free and I haven't published any album, just put most of the material there. I have this strong vision that art (especially music) should be completely free. For me the world would be much...

    Homemade soundtracks for games

Greetings from Finland! I've fiddled around in my homestudio for a few years now and have produced most of the soundtracks I use in my games myself. I've published the songs freely on the net and thought that it would be nice to share the songs with you. If you find them enjoyable and usable...

    Ultima IX Redemption

Thanks for the feedback and I think you're right, it's a bit slow on this channel. I'm a bit worried about that intellectual property right -situation also, have to talk with the project leaders about the situation. I'd presume they would already had had somekind of contact from the EA side...
