Not really IMO... This... is more complex to me than what I presented. You are talking about Vigor and Health (no problems there!), but then you go on to discuss "desperation points", "Action points, and somehow you recover Vigor? You also have two statuses... Rested and Wounded, which impact...

First, as a DM and when I get to play, I love death spirals... they are "real" and so increase my sense of immersion in the game. Second, any system is a compromise between simplicity and accuracy IMO. While the suggestions in the thread might increase the accuracy factor, they also decrease...
