    GAME OF THRONES #3:Lord Snow-ACT 3 Chapter 1-2011

Each episode keeps getting better. I loved the scene between Tyrion and Yoren and only loved the training scene at the end with Arya and Syrio more.

    GAME OF THRONES #2:The Kingsroad-ACT 2 Chapter 1-2011

I thought the scene between Cersei and Cat was to show Cersei's art of manipulation. Here, the viewer knows she was witness to the crime that nearly killed Bran, but you almost become sympathetic with her as she relates the story of losing a child of her own long ago (whether it is true or not...

    GAME OF THRONES #2:The Kingsroad-ACT 2 Chapter 1-2011

Thoroughly enjoyed this episode (hopefully they keep getting better) and Sundays now can't come soon enough ;) Dinklage as Tyrion is so spot on, I can't even imagine someone else in that role.

    Game of Thrones: spoilers discussion.

Foreshadowing I really liked some of the foreshadowing elements that were perhaps unintentional, but seemed like they were omens of things to come. The two that I caught: 1. Arya doing needlepoint in her first scene of the episode. 2. The dead stag (sigil of House Baratheon) in the woods...

    Game of Thrones: spoilers discussion.

Intro I liked the opening as well. This review by a Times writer also notes that the locations shown in the intro will be specific to the episode, lending a little more information to the uninitiated fans.

    Winter is coming... tomorrow

I've been a big fan of the novels for a long time, and I think the first episode was near perfect at capturing the feeling of Westeros and the series, and it did a good job of establishing characters and motivations. I hope it was good enough for non-fans to stick around and watch the rest of...

    [April] What are you watching?

Really? Isn't it just a retelling of Flowers for Algernon? Despite that fact, I was still on the fence about seeing it, but maybe I'll convince the wife to check it out this weekend (not that she needs much convincing with a Bradley Cooper movie ;) ) Looking forward to watching Game of Thrones...

    Projector suggestions?

And here is a picture of the rig that one of the members of our group designed and built for elevating the projector above the playing table.

    Projector suggestions?

Sorry, I keep forgetting that our projector box has the wrong label on it. We are using the BenQ MP525ST.

    Projector suggestions?

Our group has been using a BenQ MP525P (short throw) projector for the last year. Half the time we play in basements that don't offer much overhead for the jib that one of our players created, but it works just fine. One of the best investments our group ever made.

Song of Ice and Fire - Official Book 5 Pub Date!

I am cautiously optimistic of this news; I will be happy to have a good summer book to read. As far as catching up, I personally just slip in the audio books into my commute. I did that before reading a FFC. Also, they released a new trailer for the HBO series yesterday as well: The best 'Game...

Death's Reach - entering Epic play

The problem is that the modules were written before a lot of the revisions were made along with the majority of the splat books. The damage output and powers that the monsters have are woefully inadequate for an Epic level party; jamesmanhattan makes some very good observations and...

'Community' to have a Dungeons & Dragons episode

I loved the Galadriel/Lord of the Rings narration during the episode. Hilarious touch.

'Community' to have a Dungeons & Dragons episode

I was just going to post that I swear I saw the Essentials book in front of Troy during the game. Nice product placement WOTC ;)

D&D 4E What level have you achieved in a 4E campaign?

Did you mean to state: 2 sessions/level? Our level progression wasn't that quick in the beginning, but I really put them on the fastrack since P3: Nightwyrm Fortress (didn't really care for that one, so I shortened it immensely). I have it planned out that we are going to be at about (roughly)...

D&D 4E What level have you achieved in a 4E campaign?

Our group is two sessions into E1, has just made 21st level, and we started at H1 in June of 2008. We have lost many characters along the way; the oldest (still living) PC originated during the party's time in H3: Pyramid of Shadows. The majority (6 PCs in all) arrived during P1: Trollhaunt...
