D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Very much enjoying it. As is the group. Entering the end game: the discovery of Ythryn & the race against rival npc exploration teams to loot the city of its secrets.

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Thanks for your sincere reply!! As I said - I am enjoying it - but my - it really takes all my skill to fix things and I am highly indebted to others who have done loads of work in this regard. I would rather though spend time on fleshing out side-quests/ sandboxing it/ getting players linked...

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Listen Scott I will say this one last time... Loads of people have chipped in on this thread stating the massive problems there are with Rime & other campaigns. Problems which are simply the map is wrong/ the room description is poor (which are easily fixable although still annoying - and Rime...

And thanks for the recommendations 👍🏼

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

There are a lot of folks who have raised issues. You're not alone. It's got so bad, one friend who loves Spelljammer can't be arsed to get excited by the nu Spelljammer since his expectations of WotC content is so low. 😔 This could of course be a reflection on how bad my DMing skills are...

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Am with you Retreater. It simply would be nice to know that if you wanted to be a lazy GM (for a few sessions! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)... that you could rely on a WotC campaign to be able to be run out of the can, having read it & prepped it as is. Enough frigging work just doing that TBH. It would be nice. I...

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Good to know. I have not tried D&DB

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Sorry to hear that Retreater. Wishing you all the best in restarting a group. With you on the hook in the AV. It's non-existent. But..... once you set it up, it seems to be able to run itself. And there is a story to be teased out of the clues. A mystery. Which players encounter layer by...

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

I & my lot loved it. Very roleplay heavy. But it did require lots of prep to make the sandbox flow. Enjoyable stress!

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

I am too time poor at the moment & prefer riffing off material. Hopefully we are returning to F2F gaming which makes things easier. I fear the pandemic has broken my game group.... hopefully I am wrong! 🤞🏼

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Having only read it and started prepping it to run in PF2e, I would have to disagree. This from memory (I am away from home atm).... but the surface threats are not great to the local population.... but are planning a raid or 2.... and lots of the initial levels have plenty of undead - who are...

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Having said that, I have still really enjoyed running it. Bit it would have been better face to face..... but given the circumstances.... better Roll20 than nothing!
  17. BenTheFerg

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

Yes. I have been running Rime on Roll20. Did so to save the effort of all the bureaucracy of adding material into Roll20 which I was doing for my Eberron homebrew. Thought to myself: I'll run a premade campaign since adding stuff on Roll20 is a be-atch! That went well! 🤣🤣🤣

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden Post-Mortem (Spoilers)

You are going to 'call me out'? For spouting heresy? For overcharging? For lying like my PM in Parliament? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 Yes, I spotted the flaws, as did others in Rime & other campaigns (I wrote it in the plural, the worst offenders being Descent into Avernus & Dragon Heist). All I am/ others are...

    D&D 5E What is +1 Strength worth?

As mentioned in another post, it depends on your character build. The Goliath Rune Knight for example, missed out on a +2Str at L4 to get Polearm Mastery. Which has been awesome! Generally +2 to your core stat is generally a no brainer IMHO. But ....it really depends on the feat & player build...

    D&D 5E What is +1 Strength worth?

In the game I run, the Goliath Rune Knight is the biggest damage dealer by far, with his extra attack from the butt of his polearm & extra reach for opportunity attacks. He devastates the battle field. It is noticeable. And whilst he shines, one other player gets grumpy since they aren't doing...
