DriveThruRPG.com to release 3.5 edition Dungeons & Dragons titles in eBook format

I think this is a fantastic idea, well done to WoTC and Scott Rouse. Outstanding and perfect timing as we are about to put a PDF capability into RPGXplorer. It seems like we're moving in the right direction now, I thought it was beyond fantastic that I could download PDF's for the Age Of Worms...

    RPG Xplorer

All v1.0 defects in RPGXplorer have been addressed and a patch and revised build are going out tomorrow. To do this within a week of release is pretty good going I hope you'll agree. V1.0 was rushed out of the door for sure, but safe in the knowledge that we could quickly fix major defects...

    E-Tools: What can it do?

Since RPGX got a mention from KingPaul I'll point out that RPGXplorer v1.0 is coming out tomorrow and not feel too bad in the 'pimping' dept :p ;) Epics, Psionics and Companions next (after fixing the inevitable v1.0 buglets of course ;) p.s. sorry for taking a potshot at you on Wiz boards...

RPG Xplorer - I got a sneak preview

Mac and Linux versions were part of the original release plan for RPGXplorer however, as Mercule correctly points out these are (or were) dependent on .Net being available for these platforms. The MONO project (sponsored by Novell) is a version of .Net for Linux and appears to have moved on a...

    RPGXPlorer - anyone tried it?

The only possible stumbling block would be if the rule page was mixed content e.g. it contained artwork or other IP. I guess in this instance we'd have to prevent that from being distributed and probably have to provide an alternate version of the rule page containing just the OGC. I'm not sure...

    PCGen releases PCGen v5.9.3 Alpha

 I gave up in the end. There's only so many times you can read the d20 Software FAQ before you begin losing the will to live. In all seriousness though the No Covered Product may be an "Interactive Game" clause and its explanation in the Software FAQ seem to make it pretty clear that...

I think CMP are using C++ with a MySQL or some other cross-platform database (think it was MySQL, might be wrong, doesn't really matter though it was definitely a database of some sort) for RPGT.

    PCGen releases PCGen v5.9.3 Alpha

BoR = Beast of Redmond = Microsoft :) Java 5? Wow, I'm sure its only a year or so since I downloaded 2.something to try out PCGen. I guess it must be longer than that. I think so, I was just bored and looking to start a conversation.

    NWN: good server?

Try this: World of Antaria Friend of mine DMs it. Haven't been on myself though as I'm not much of NwN fan.

    PCGen releases PCGen v5.9.3 Alpha

Sorry to tag this on here, but I was curious as to what's happening in the Java world. Now that the fisticuffs with the BoR is over, are there any plans to bring out a new version of Java? Being a slave to the beast I don't often get a chance to delve into the world of non-beasty software.

    RPGXPlorer - anyone tried it?

OGC content is by definition 'Open' therefore you could freely distribute any components labelled as 'Open' as long as you abide by the terms of the OGL itself. It is not possible to lock or otherwise render OGC data unredistributable without breaching the terms of the OGL. As for 'closed'...

    RPGXPlorer - anyone tried it?

The situation as I understand it is this (basically what you said but in my own words): 1. The only publisher with which you have the scope to disassociate yourself from either the OGL or d20 licence is WoTC since they are the original copyright holder. Obviously this would require an agreement...

I'm not sure I understand the question Paul, could you elaborate plz?

    RPGXPlorer - anyone tried it?

:) Correct also, but I think Paul's question was more related to OGL material and whether it remains OGL after it becomes a commercial dataset.
