Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks Talks AI Usage in D&D [UPDATED!]

Usually there is one big event per sport per season, The Draft, where the Players get together and pick the players on the sports teams. Then it is weekly scoring usually over the internet and trash talking. But, I know people that are in multiple leagues in the same sport and do it for...

Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

I use my wife as my guidepost for this show. She has read The Hobbit and the Trilogy once, long-ago, but the movies are IT for her. So during the show, when something that I know from either the Simillrillion or my listening to podcast starts to creep into my mind (like an evil shadow), I will...

Which fantasy TRPGs do you think truly reflect the characteristics of firearms as Game Changers?

Outside of Shadowrun, GURPS jumped out at me as well. I tried to run a shadowrun-style GURPS game back in the 90s. Core-book + GURPS Magic + GURPS Cyberpunk. If I remember correctly the dedicated Spell-Slinger was on par with the Gun Guy but did have to conserve mana points more than gun guy...

D&D (2024) Dungeon Master's Guide Bastion System Lets You Build A Stronghold

How antagonistic? Take a gander even here on Enworld at some of the Warlock threads where a few DM's feel it is their right (nay responsibility?) to mess with Warlock PCs on a level undreamt of since the days of the 1st ed Paladin. While I think the wording maybe a bit over the top, I think...

    Marvel Multiverse TTRPG

Reading through it, it looks fun. And watching Glass Cannon play it makes it look easy and smooth to run.

What would be in your perfect Halloween setting?

Honestly (as a nearly forever DM) if I got to play in a Halloween one shot I would be thrilled if the DM used one of the minor realms from the 5e Ravenloft book and used the suggested adventure hooks to build an adventure. That may not be helpful, so more specifically, I would love an...

    Spoilers Agatha All Along discussion

My thoughts on the teen were: 1) Agatha's son, and at the end she will get a chance to Wish she had never made the original deal. But, I think this is what they want us to think and is therefore not likely. 2) Vision/Wanda's son (1 of them). When Teen found the kitchen gadget to boil the...

Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks Talks AI Usage in D&D [UPDATED!]

I work in Corporate America, and I have known many high level mangers that play in 4-6 fantasy sports league a year. With 10-12 people per league I see no reason to assume he is lying about how many people he plays with.

Kickstarter Monsters and Personal Horror With Onyx Path Publishing's Curseborne

I'm backing Storypath Ultra Core book on backerkit now and will back this one as well. I think I really like what they're doing with the system.

Players Don't Care About Your Setting

Does that point seem to be in The Two Towers? cause if so, you are not alone. I love the books, but when ever I do a re-read, I know I am not making it straight through. The Two Towers will always take me months as I will bounce to other books then return where I left off.

D&D General Stuff 5E Did Right

If you can do without spellcaster (but with scholars and other ways to enchant items) you should look at The Lord of the Rings RPG (for 5e) by free league. They go 1-10 levels but again no spellcasting.

Players Don't Care About Your Setting

So, I think that the Tolkien = GM, Readers = Players, and Silmarillion is a workable analogy. That said, the Silmarillion didn't make it into play. For original readers, they didn't get that world lore until decades after the "campaign" ended. So in a sense Silmarillion was the GM having his...

Obtain a treasure with no lose of (PC) blood. That also plays into old school style right?

    D&D (2024) Reworked…revised…redone….but

So I have seen this type of claim a bit (even from some well known Youtubers) and I am a bit confused. When you say this, do you mean it will be like Baldur's Gate 3 or the D&D MMORPG. We have both now, so if that is WOTC's end game why put the resources to making the TTRPG end up like that...

How Dragonbane Pointed out the Clashing Desires of My Gaming Group

I immediately thought of Heroquest as well as a fit for his group. But, no board games, so what seems that would be a good fit (Except for the poor guy that actually wants to Role-Play) is a boardgame disguised as an RPG, but not so complicated as 3rd or 4th edition D&D, but still somewhat...

    What makes a TTRPG tactical?

For me Dragonbane has the right amount of tactical weight. Each round Players decide if they want to dodge or attack, and inititive makes this a meaningful choice. Then anyone with a spell or fighting ability decides if they spend willpower or just do something basic and save willpower. That...

D&D General Developing a Homebrew Pantheon: Another word for "Saint?"

Paragon is probably the best, but I can't help myself from throwing out a couple of angel heirarchy suggestions: Either Powers or Thrones. There are more obviously, but those two have always resonated with me.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Those dice have both numbers and pips and they are not consistant across the different dice. That really bugs me for some reason.

Olympics Talk: A brief discussion before it goes away

While I try not to dis any sport, cause-hey what I have accomplished-, there are some that I go "How did that sport happen?". Specifically Sychronized diving. These are obviously great athletes doing impress dives, but someone somewhere went "What if we have 2 of them doing it at the same time...
