In Red Box Fantasy I just refer to D&D as "The Game" and usually mention "older versions" and "newer versions". Everyone knows what you are talking about. It isn't like a large amount of people are going to end up playing our retro-games with no knowledge of D&D.

The party really needs to agree on, elect or declare a party leader who can make the big picture decisions after a little discussion with the others. This little step could go a long way towards fixing those issues.

Power need not be a real issue with these things, as they can be made so low power that they can be solar charged. If energy really becomes that big of an issue I think we will all have bigger problems than not being able to power our gaming pads.

I actually used some of the Kittelsen troll pictures. There is actually a ton of public domain fantasy artwork, and using nothing but that will give you a decidedly archaic style to your brand. However you run the risk of using all the same pictures as everyone else.

Madchen means girl, however it just about means "young girl". So your word means "Young Girl Art", which can be taken to mean something pretty inappropriate.

Or at least make sure the made up word sounds like an english word and follows english rules of spelling. Your players will trip all over words that don't.

Mentzer is better if for nothing else than that was the later ruleset and the Rules Cyclopedia used Mentzer rules, as did almost everything else (and it was available for about 5 times as long).
