Pathfinder 1E I get the feeling Paizo isn't worried about Wizards of the Coast.

Yes, that does sound familiar. :) It mattered this time.

Is it possible that 2nd edition could make a very popular come back?

Yep - great stuff. The fact that 3E did not invalidate those books helped me feel less apprehensive about the move from 2E to 3E. When 4E made those books irrelevant, it was yet another reason for me not to switch.

Is it possible that 2nd edition could make a very popular come back?

I have very conflicted feelings with regard to 2E. The 2E setting material is by far my favorite, but the rules wackiness (kits, etc.) killed my campaign back in the day. I had players that refused to play D&D anymore due to 2E's issues. They came back to D&D for 3E, though.

Pathfinder 1E Stats needed: Dragon Skeleton

Unfortunately, the closest I can find is brinebones in Skull & Shackles (#60) on p. 27. But he's a bronze electric skeleton gargantuan undead (CR 13).

Pathfinder 1E Is your relationship to monster books (Bestiaries) changing?

I still like (and use) both the electronic versions and physical copy.

    And in 2014?

I hear they are shutting down D&D in 2014 to make way for a new intergalactic superhighway. ...But I may be confusing my hobbies.

Pathfinder 1E I get the feeling Paizo isn't worried about Wizards of the Coast.

While this is possible, Pathfinder's rules are all online for free. That doesn't seem to have had a crippling effect on their book sales. (Now, granted, Paizo's sales requirements and WotC's sales requirements are likely not on the same scale.)

Pathfinder 1E I get the feeling Paizo isn't worried about Wizards of the Coast.

WotC has Magic. The suits likely view the D&D brand as a unit unto itself that either performs or doesn't. They may see Paizo as a factor that affects the brand, but at the end of the day, D&D either makes money or not. I don't think Paizo keeps them up at night. As for Paizo worrying about...

    OD&D November 2013--Deluxe OD&D Reprint (White Box + Supplements I-IV)

    That's not a typo. There are 11 fighter/magic-users in Greyhawk. ;)

D&D 5E Opinion poll: Once D&D Next is out, how do you think it will do? (based on what we have so far)

As others have said, I think it will be strong out of the gate. Beyond that - it depends. If WotC uses the same strategies it has used for 3E, 3.5E and 4E, it will fail* within 4 years. However, if they employ a different strategy with different expectations, it could well succeed for many...

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

Minis are licensed - not a Paizo-created product. (Though they do approve them.)

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

Actually, it is the same (if not better). Paizo has a vested interest in *every* game doing well. Name one other RPG company that can make that claim.

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

I believe Erik Mona recently (if not currently) has played in a 1E campaign - and most of them (if not all of them) cut their teeth on pre-3E D&D. I think they'd be fine for all editions except 4E, which they've already indicated does not let them tell the stories they'd like to tell. Of...

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

Yes, I think Paizo would make a better steward for the flagship RPG.

Mari Kolkowsky (D&D Art Director) got laid off yesterday

WotC did - before WotC was sold to Hasbro. :) So we got 1.5 - 2 years where they knew what they were doing.
