Have you guys seen Fantasy Grounds?

Faster than light travel or "jumping"

I'm a fan of jumping. I'm also a fan of making the only safe jump routes be at a couple points at the fringe of the solar system, without a difficult nav job that computers are poorly equipped to handle. Rogue jump points are wicked.

    Need opinions on Dungeon Bash!

Well, don't get too defensive :) Non-D20 products get more valid discussion than this did, and this is a D20 product on a D20 forum. I just expected more than the zero answers I got before you saw this (other than other people looking for info and Diaglo forgetting all about it hehe) Thank you...

    Solving The Riddle of Steel

You are quite welcome :) But keep in mind what Morte and Ridley said - it's not a replacement for D&D and D&D-style games. It's a very different gaming experience, but one I enjoy a lot.

    Solving The Riddle of Steel

My Fey and Shadow game (story hour link in sig) is Riddle of Steel in the Midnight campaign setting - it's kinda wordy because, being Play by Post, the players have time to work up some fairly lengthy posts, but I think it captures the feel of TRoS and the flavor of Midnight quite well.

    Solving The Riddle of Steel

I wouldn't call the learning curve "huge", but there's definitely some thought that has to go into every round of combat. Once you get it down though, a fight can be resolved in minutes. The hit tables are one of the best features, I think, but they definitely do take getting used to. The...

    PDFs - Does size matter?

As a consumer, I'd say split it up. I love the way RPGO does theirs (among other companies). DW is 3 PDFs, and I think their Excalibur and Samurai books are 2-3 products each as PDFs. It's also a lot easier for me to convince myself to spend $10 three times than it is to spend $30 once...

    D20 apocalypse

Well, DW2 mutations are as you say - you can scale them take them multiple times (the effects of which are detailed mutation by mutation), and there's feats to buy off penalties. Burst fire - nope, not really thrilled with the D20 Modern way of doing it. It isn't the worst ever, but to me it...

    Buyer Expectations for OGL

I fully expect that ALL mechanics material (as opposed to settings, names, places, etc) will be OGC, flavor text NOT included. If mechanics aren't OGC, I'll never buy from that company again, unless it's something that I KNOW will be all fluff, like setting info (which wouldn't be OGC anyway)...

    Tired of d20 yet?

I still play lots of D20, but very little D&D these days. I also play a couple other systems now, notably Riddle of Steel and GURPS.

    Small groups

I run TrueD20 and Riddle of Steel with 1-2 players, regularly. Works great. D&D is built around having a balanced party, but that's not the case with all flavors of D20 and especially not of many other game systems. Running D&D with only 2 PCs could be a challenge though, unless it were...

    Need opinions on Dungeon Bash!

I can see by the flood of replies that it is a super popular product :) That kind of tells me what I need to know anyway...

A Realization (maybe an epiphany?) about D&D

Actually, there are games like that (they just aren't D&D proper). Blue Rose system is like that, and I'm sure there are others I don't know about. And outside of D20 there are systems where everything is skill based too (GURPS 4e comes to mind).

    PDFs - Does size matter?

Man, would you just stop already? I even apologized twice for possibly saying things that might be inflammatory and you just keep coming. Dude, it's ONE FREAKIN CLICK. And it isn't even the topic of the thread. Please. Just. Stop.

    D20 apocalypse

Because I specifically mentioned that DW2 fixed that. I'm basically defending DW2 against your comments, most of which have been inaccurate with the new version or misleading to DMs who might not be familiar with the game. So, either all settings are unalterable or they are incoherent...

    PDFs - Does size matter?

My most heavily used PDFs are from Darwin's World (large), Blood and Fists (large), and Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe (also large). But I wouldn't give up my Future: Starship series from Ronin Arts for the world, and those are individually quite small. I could live without them if I...

    PDFs - Does size matter?

Sigh. Yes, and then I have to click through the directory tree. Since I've been using computers since before the first Mac came out, and have written books on such pedestrian topics as batch file programming, I'm pretty sure I've seen the Save As command before. Nonetheless, despite the...

    D20 apocalypse

You keep mentioning the +1/-1 stuff. That's long gone, along with the mutant racial templates and multiple core classes, as now it is just an add-on to D20Modern. Just to clarify. Can't help on the flavor stuff though - Clean Water Clans takes up 2 pages now, so I guess I just don't see it as...

Is the d20 market completely saturated?

I keep thinking so, but then I realize I have way more left to buy than I have of money to do so with, so apparently, it isn't saturated in my case. Stupid car payment and mortgage interferes with my gaming :(

    PDFs - Does size matter?

It saves me 1 click per item. Since that's the amount you are so far posting about, I feel this is a significant quantity :) Actually it saves me about 4 clicks per item because when I hit "save" on the ZIP it just goes where I want it instead of having to click through to my downloads...
