Yes and of course no demon lord anywhere with an intelligence of 30 knows what telepathy is or has ever experienced it and would just assume any strange voice speaking Common in its head is totally his inside voice.

I love how he thinks a major mythological being, who is thousands of years old, has an intelligence of 30 and rates in the top 1% of beings in the multiverse in terms of arcane power and knowledge, has no idea what Planar Binding or Telepathy is or what it feels like when someone is trying to do...

Yeah, that is actually where I got the name from. I always thought it would make a cool name for a fantasy town full of mysterious very powerful people who may or may not secretly control the world.

There is an Epic Boon for this, Boon of Immortality, page 231 of the DMG. It is your game, you can give out Epic Boons at 1st level if you want to. The fountain of youth trope has been around for a long time, it makes for a decent quest idea and it gives all the PC's in the game the opportunity...

After following this thread all week, I finished my week with 4 solid hours of playing a real D&D game with friends. I am playing a level 7 Half Orc Champion Fighter, and all I could think tonight was, "THIS is how D&D is played, life is good.".

I think this has always been the crux of the problem. The sorcerer is great in this nice neat little sandbox OP built, but outside of it, meh! not so much. In real games there is a DM, who yes, has every right to use DM fiat. There are other players, who may (and lets face it, probably will) do...

This is actually what bothers me the most. I get that people are sometimes weird on the internet and would never do or say the things they do on the internet in real life, but if he acts like this at a real table, I can't imagine he is much fun to play the game with. If he were at my table...

@prabe , a 3 turn take down is respectable, while I am sure I can take him, I am not sure I could have done better than you did.

This was not a waste of time, what it shows is how ridiculous your ideas are about how an actual game of D&D is played. When the dice start rolling, stuff rarely works the way you think it will.

Unfortunately for you, your are not the DM, so you are in no position to say what is DM fiat and what isn't.

I have been DM'ing for 40 years, I have screwed over PC's for poorly worded wishes, your wish was one of the better ones I have seen. @Galandris applied all the detrimental effects of using such a wish, I see no problems.
