Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

Interesting that From 2016 to 2017 about 172k more games being played in total. But at the same time 5e itself had 140k more plays. Which means from a certain point of view 81% of the growth comes from 5e. Pathfinder did great to hold its share with the influx.

I always loved the quickling. But I don't think I ever had anyone encounter them.

    D&D 5E DM combat tactics

I essentially gave the spiders surprise by giving them one full turn to get down there. I guess I could have done that and then determined surprise. Giving them a chance to close even further. Given that they would be silent coming down and limited to 60 dark vision on the PCs side I think that...

    D&D 5E DM combat tactics

It went like this (encounter from curse of Strahd). PCs rang gong, spiders begin descending on the surprise round. Next round spiders don't roll very well on initiative, and they get pin cushioned. If it was just once I would not mind, but dang if I didn't have the same thing happen again and...

    D&D 5E DM combat tactics

Ok I have a question. I often try to give the players a heads up with an incoming monster. Perhaps they are spiders descending from the bell tower on silk strands, or they are a vampire that escaped his confinement and attempts to double back onto the PCs. In both of these situations the PCs...

    D&D 5E I don't use Passive Perception

I see it as a time saver. If you don't mind rolling the dice Everytime a trap is near and sometimes when one is not then cool. However I don't see how it ruins the fun. If a player in your group had made choices so that he/she is very perceptive then the party will be having fun each time they...

Delving Into Worlds Of Dungeon Fantasy With GURPS

Mini review: This version of GURPS has been slightly streamlined from the core rules. Concentrating on fantasy, and providing templates that act much like classes we see in Dungeons and Dragons as opposed to traditional GURPS where you have to build your character from the ground up. This...

Human Fighters Most Common Race/Class Combo In D&D

Human fighters are the go to beginning character. It feels that we are getting more and more new players. That can account for the uneven distribution.

Delving Into Worlds Of Dungeon Fantasy With GURPS

I picked this up. More of a nostalgia purchase really. I was hoping they would streamline it more than they did. Just can't bring myself to open the box. Luckily i bought the pdfs. If only we could get a combat attack down to one roll, I would give it a try.

Jeremy Crawford on Xanathar's Rogue Inquisitive Subclass

To be fair, the first thing you need to do to avoid traps is to perceive them. Which is wisdom based. However I would easily let a player who is actively looking for traps to use int instead of wisdom. Passive perception still feels like a wisdom only domain. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using...
