Ok. I believe I understand this. If your DM allows the crafting of magic items, you can craft a legendary item only if it is a new item, and not a legendary item that already exists. Which would make perfect sense. Nef

Hmm. I'm a bit confused. There is a table that shows Legendary items cost 500 000 gp's and a minimum level of 17th level to create a legendary item. But then on page 141 it says there are no formulas ( which you need to create an item ) for legendary items.

As per the DMG, crafting of magic items is an optional rule, if your DM allows it. It's not a given that you can. Should your DM allow you to craft magic items, you can not craft legendary items. Nef
