    Random Encounter Tables

Well, there is something that nowadays players seem to forget about: you can run for your life. You don't have to fight every encounter, even if the enemy attacks you.

AD&D 1E DMG and Monster Manual In PDF!

Indeed, it seems I remembered wrong. Thank you for clarifying.

AD&D 1E DMG and Monster Manual In PDF!

There is a chance that the OD&D pdfs are coming earlier. As far as I remember the OD&D boxed set came out earlier than the 2e reprints.

FANTASY AGE Can Now Be YOURS!

You can probably also use Gifts of the Gods.

Critical Hits - why, and why not?

I saw that, and I've seen a few good ideas there, but I'm more interested in RMFRP or RMC at the moment. What bothers me about RMU is while combat and character generation seems more streamlined, the monsters are way too complex for my taste. RM2 and RMFRP seems so nice with only one line stat...

Critical Hits - why, and why not?

Heh, those are the things why we also like WFRP1e and DCC RPG critical charts. I am planning to run RoleMaster someday by the way. I have yet to find out which ruleset to use and how to make my life easier. I'm pretty sure it's not as slow as horrible as many depict it, but unfortunately most...

Help me price these musical instruments.

No idea, but I can recommend you two very good sources for prices: the Goods & Gear book by Kenzer&Co, ...And a 10 Foot Pole by Iron Crown Enterprises.

Critical Hits - why, and why not?

I like how in RoleMaster there are different degrees of critical results depending on how good your attack was. There aren't exactly critical hits in the same ways as in D&D (ie. natural 20), instead there are side effects for attacks based on the weapon and armor (eg. blunt weapons are more...

    Catching Up With PATHFINDER ONLINE

Pathfinder Online is the least promising unfinished MMO at the market, at least for me. With such fantasy MMOs coming in the next few years as Crowfall, EverQuest Next, Camelot Unchained, it looks poor in every possible way. Heck, even a random new eastern grindfest looks more interesting than this.

    D&D 5E Errata Unarmed Strike

It's an abstraction, like everything else in D&D combat. You're still fighting with two fists, but unless you're a monk, you don't get an extra attack.

D&D 5E What aspects of play do you most enjoy?

I enjoy the part where the players fail, or when they face the consequences of their actions.

    D&D 5E [Homebrew] Shadowknight, an EverQuest-inspired class for 5E

I would avoid that as base for conversion. It was pretty broken - and I'm saying this despite being a guy who doesn't care about balance. There were some interesting and goddamn strong monsters in those books, though.

D&D 5E We've had dragons, elementals, and demons - so what iconic evil is next?

Interestingly TSR, Judges Guild, Goodman Games wrote plenty of adventure sites I could use.

D&D 5E We've had dragons, elementals, and demons - so what iconic evil is next?

See my previous post. No need to be villains. There are shades of gray and there can be different (personal) goals than saving the world and fighting another big bad boss of the FR.

D&D 5E We've had dragons, elementals, and demons - so what iconic evil is next?

In my campaigns I never assume anything, especially not winning - survival is a reward on it's own. There's a chance of failure and I don't create goals for my players - it's their job to find one for themselves. I find it far more satisfying to reach your own goals than one that was written by...

D&D 5E We've had dragons, elementals, and demons - so what iconic evil is next?

Halflings. For a change, they could introduce a campaign where the players are not heroes by default.

D&D 3.5 Dungeon Master's Guide Now In PDF!

And the OD&D booklets. I have the majestic boxed set, but I would be happy to have the pdf version too.

OUT OF THE ABYSS Cover Art!

That Demogorgon is a brute. I prefer his slimmer looks with longer necks. In general, I prefer weird demons over buffed ones. Otherwise the book looks promising.
