#RPGaDAY Day 30: What is an RPG genre-mashup you would most like to see?

Is there really any genre-mashup that HASN’T been done at this point? I suppose I’d like to see an rpg that simulates the players as themselves playing characters in a living MMORPG. (A concept I’m working on.) Then again, I wouldn't mind a steampunk+dinosaurs game.

#RPGaDAY Day 29: What has been the best-run Kickstarter you have backed?

This. I’ve backed two rpg Kickstarters that awesome: Fate Core and Shadow of the Demon Lord. I got so many books from the Fate Core KS and for practically a solid year after SotDL KS sent out the book there was a pdf a week backer reward waiting for me on DrivethruRPG. Fate became my go-to game...

#RPGaDAY Day 28: What film/series is the biggest source of quotes in your group?

In my group, practically everything geeky is fair game. Buffy, Princess Bride, Marvel movies, Monty Python, South Park, Star Trek, Star Wars, Dresden Files novels… Anything and everything geeky.

#RPGaDAY Day 27: What are your essential tools for good gaming?

My essential tools for good gaming include dice (I’ve gotten to gaming a once or twice without my dice), pencils, scrap paper, books, character sheets (also forgotten those once or twice), and friends. Because friends can be tools sometimes, but they can still be fun to play with.

#RPGaDAY Day 26: Which RPG provides the most useful resources?

D&D’s various editions. Shadow of the Demon Lord’s spell cards are pretty useful, also. L5R 4th also had a lot of useful source books.

#RPGaDAY Day 25: What is the best way to thank your GM?

Best way to thank this GM is to say thank you, talk about what you enjoyed, and rave about the events in the game. Also, pizza. When I thank a GM, I think the best way to do that is say thank you, talk about what I enjoyed, and rave about events. Also, pizza.

#RPGaDAY Day 24: Share a PWYW publisher who should be charging more?

I have to admit, I’m not really familiar with many PWYW publishers beyond Evil Hat to answer this one.

PunkApocalyptic: The Roleplaying Game coming in 2018 from Schwalb Entertainment

A local game convention managed to get him (and John Wick) to come and run some games and I was lucky enough to not only get to PLAY the game but also have him as the GM. He is indeed very approachable and a cool guy, the kind you'd want to buy a drink for.

#RPGaDAY Day 23: Which RPG has the most jaw-dropping layout?

It may seem like an opinion that would be unpopular, but it's something that can generate genuine discussion. Personally, I think layout, art, and writing are important. After all, we the players have to have a rules to work from in order to play, and those rules are found inside a book. Whether...

#RPGaDAY Day 23: Which RPG has the most jaw-dropping layout?

All the 4th Edition L5R books are gorgeous to look at. There’s the occasional piece of recycled artwork across the books, but the books are just beautiful.

PunkApocalyptic: The Roleplaying Game coming in 2018 from Schwalb Entertainment

Welp, there goes another $60 of my money. Possibly more if I try the miniatures game.

#RPGaDAY Day 22: Which RPGs are the easiest for you to run?

Fate Core, Shadow of the Demon Lord, and any d20/D&D 3.5 games are really easy for me to run.

#RPGaDAY Day 21: What RPG does the most with the least words?

I can’t really think of any games I’ve played that can accomplish a lot with a small amount of words. I want to say Fate, but Fate’s almost nothing but words.

#RPGaDAY Day 20: What is the best source for out-of-print RPGs?

eBay. And Amazon to an extent. Also, if your search-fu is strong, you can find just about anything on the internet through Google.

#RPGaDAY Day 18: Which RPG have you played the most in your life?

I’ve played D&D and L5R the most. World of Darkness comes in right behind them. While D&D got me into roleplaying, L5R made me love it. WoD... That's only because of my gaming group.

#RPGaDAY Day 19: Which RPG features the best writing?

Hands down, L5R 4th had the best writing.

Congratulations to the 2017 Gen Con EN World RPG Award Winners!

And that's definitely a breath of fresh air in today's society. I try to avoid being negative when I post on the internet, but I'm only human. Plus, the older I get the more jaded I become. There are times where I want to post on something to defend it, but end up merely avoiding it because my...

Congratulations to the 2017 Gen Con EN World RPG Award Winners!

To me this sounds like a possibility. And to reiterate what someone else said, Wizards didn't even bother making their presence really felt while Paizo did at Gencon this year. And I'm not going to buy the crap line that Wizards - being owned by Hasbro - is going to be more concerned with...

    First Peek at Lazarus...

There's going to be a Modern AGE...??? How did I miss THAT news??? I must have that book so I can run a modern setting game in an action movie style world like I've been wanting to do.

#RPGaDAY Day 17: Which RPG have you owned the longest but not played?

I own quite a number of Pathfinder books and I’ve yet to really play it. I’ve played in a few events at Gencon – with a friend – but I don’t really count those as I’ve never really felt invested in the characters I played. I have several full adventure paths and several different books, but I've...
