    Humans as a generic race

Humans are apparently the most "resilient" race, so +2 to Con might be indicated. Then perhaps +2 to any other stat, or maybe any mental stat. Or something completely different.

Holiday Present - The Elf PHB entry

Perhaps not party members, but Elves are pretty skinny, and with their dex bonus, probably pretty flexible, so you could hire a small elf as a henchman and stick him in the backpack. That raises another thing that makes me dislike this ability - you don't have to be very perceptive at all to...

New article - Elves, Eladrin and Drow. Oh, my!

I quite like it, surprisingly considering my general feelings on the 4E refluffing. It's interesting, and makes me want to make a few "eladrin" characters. Still find rebranding hald the elves as eladrin annoying and pointless, and one thing that did annoy me was that they closed off the...

Holiday Present - The Elf PHB entry

Fluff is fairly meh. I'm glad they're getting rid of the long childhood, but they're too shortlived for my taste - I like my elves immortal, it's their most interesting aspect. Otherwise it's fairly standard wood elf fluff, but then innovation is not what I want from the core fluff...

WotC_PeterS talks about his "aggresive playtest" (with Le Rouse, SKR, & Noonan)

It doesn't need to be constructive. It needs to be good natured or deserved - otherwise it's just being a jerk. In this case, accompanying it with something constructive would more clearly have signalled that there wasn't any intent to cause offence. Oh, and since I haven't said it yet...

WotC_PeterS talks about his "aggresive playtest" (with Le Rouse, SKR, & Noonan)

Because without any constructive response, it can appear as nothing more than mockery of those asking the question, and thus more insulting than funny - particularly on the internet, where tone is hard to judge. Such was clearly not the intent, but it didn't come across very well for me...

    Dragonborn: Boobs or No Boobs?

I suspect that if female dragonborn are too unfeminine they'll get ignored by many players, as well as the artists, so it's probably a good idea to give them breasts even if it doesn't make a huge amount of sense. They'll be of more use that way

D&D 4E 4e Races and Classes: "Why we changed the gods"

Not really. Their job could well be to serve a whole region - they'd be the go-to guy for any farmers in the vicinity, helping them out in any number of ways, from "my crops aren't growing" and "my cattle are sick", to "Orcs kidnapped my children" and "Wyverns are eating my cattle". In the...

D&D 4E 4e Races and Classes: "Why we changed the gods"

I dislike the idea that adventuring should be a common profession. 1 in a million isn't all that far off the amount of people who should be doing it Tomb looting isn't especially likely, but defending a village from a bunch of orcs is very much a sensible job for agricultural clerics. You...

D&D 4E 4e Races and Classes: "Why we changed the gods"

A cleric of the god of Agriculture makes perfect sense as an adventurer. He is the shepherd. When a beast threatens his flock, he defends them from it, and if necessary hunts it down and kills it. When one of his flock is lost, he sets out, finds them, brings them back to safety and if...

Let's Hear it for Wizard in Armor!

I worry it will reflect the removal of much of the wizards offensive power. They need to be balanced, but they shouldn't become mundane. So long as the unarmoured wizard is still workable, it's a reasonable change in and of itself though.

D&D 4E What has you excited about 4e?

A new system to see broken, proved massively and inherently unbalanced, criticised and argued over. Should be fun. :D

    D&D 4E 4e Design and JRR Tolkien

"You cannot pass," he said. The orks stood still, and a dead silence fell. "I am a servant of the Hidden Flame, wielder of the fire of Pelor. You cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of the Abyss. Go back to the Shadow! You cannot pass." The Balor made no answer. The...

Infernal pacts - appropriate for player characters?

The sending people to hell, people chewing, murdering people to be rewarded by outworld masters, allied to demons type of good guys? Well, that's a diverse group of characters catered too, certainly.

Infernal pacts - appropriate for player characters?

No. I'm saying that when you look at the tone and content of the Warlock article it's pretty clear that it's not being written with good guys in mind.

Infernal pacts - appropriate for player characters?

(sorry for picking at one line of your post, but it's something that has come up a lot and your post was handy) "Feral" not "Fey" is what we know at the moment, unless I've missed something. Perhaps it will end up amounting to the same thing, but to me it has quite different implications...

    Let Warlord be Warlord

The rest of the group, presumably, though that's problematic in itself. You could ask the same about "Warlord" really. It's an inherent problem of the concept, and indeed the whole "Leader" role, if that role is going to be anything more than support. Personally, I'd be inclined to just let a...

    So...this is the new Ettercap?:(

Yeah, it reminded me quite a bit of my Warhammer Dryads. Though after a quick search it seems the WH dryads have now been made more spindly since I stopped playing

A minor rant: the Elf spectrum

I like elves. I like them being culturally diverse, too. I dislike all the sub-races though. Human's don't get an int penalty for being barbarians, or an int bonus for being extremely civilised. At most, the weapon proficiencies should be switched out for something more appropriate to their...
