The status of the Cooperative Dungeon Project?

Personally, I would get rid of the grid and put a scale bar in one corner. The grid kind of clutters up the look. The elevation lines should be a light shade of grey rather than black. Other than that I love the look, the graduated color makes it totally intuitive which way the slopes go.

Re: ENWorld - Last Year's Server Drive Follow Up

Re: ENWorld - Last Year's Server Drive Follow Up Just got an email with the above subject line from a guy named Rich. Could any of the moderators verify that this is a valid mail before I reply with my info?

ENWorld Sculpting Project #1 The Wizard's Lab (complete)

So you use the masters made from greenstuff in play? I assumed that you would cast them in pewter first, then prep and paint. If that is the case, no wonder wax isn't a good medium of work... kind of hard to paint and gets melty if handled too much.

ENWorld Sculpting Project #1 The Wizard's Lab (complete)

Out of curiosity, why use sculpey or greenstuff instead of wax?

Rough Campaign Map and more detailed areas

Looks like a good start on a world map. I'm interested in seeing your detail maps. BTW - if you are using CC2 for mapping try sending out a locked fcw file and a link to the free fcw viewer. The file size will be smaller for a good amount of detail.

    Best Primer?

I usually use a dunk and swish in Acetone for my metal minis. For plastic use warm water and dishsoap or some other mild degreaser (like Simple Green) with a toothbrush. The best primers are enamels since they bond to the metal more strongly than acrylic based paints. Personally I prefer either...

D20 Modern - What are your house rules?

The single largest change I've used is to implement the Grim and Gritty v4 rules. This changed the entire feel of the game. The characters are a lot more careful about who they pick fights with now. I also use a DC based casting system (The Art and Science of Causing Change).

How did guns change medieval societies?

By the time the gun came into wide use, the medieval period was almost over. The renaissance began in italy as early as the mid 13th century. The change in outlook on the world the renaissance represented was much more revolutionary for society than the gun ever was. As far as the gun being...

    Punishing your players

I never punish people for their in character actions. Only when a player is disruptive or disrespectful at the table. In character actions have their own rewards.

PCs vs. The Law -- my players stay out!!

First- throw them in the stocks so that the townsfolk can see them being made a proper example of. Second, flog them and finally exile them with a warning never to return on pain of death. If you want to be especially sure that they don't, then brand their hands or forehead. It goes without...

Some pics of a red ragon

Looks good, but I would coat it in a matte finish. Try painting a source onto the light. In other words, imagine a source of the light and shade everything as if the light were coming from that direction. Paint in the highlights and shadows as well as tonal shading that you currently have...

    Sound Tracks

I've digitized my entire music collection and made a few playlists from all the music. When I get new stuff, I just drop tracks into the existing playlists. Then the playlists get dropped onto my jukebox and go with me to the game. This is much easier (and lighter) than a duffelbag full of...

    Solving The Riddle of Steel

TRoS is a very gritty system that I personally think really rocks. Nothing like going thru a massive multi opponent combat in almost real time to make your day! I've ginned up a few mods and use the combat system in my cyberpunk game and the rest is d20. Took a while to work the kinks out but...

    Reworking Skills

it works well, you just have to realize that most skills will top out at about 5 or so unless the player really wants to max out - getting to level 10 of a skill will cost 55 skill points. Also you need to allow skill points to be accumulated between levels and not be spent immediately. I...

    Painting and putting together minis

Removing the flash is done before washing, since you have to handle the figure extensively while filing and clipping and wearing cotton gloves while doing this stuff is a pain. If you don't wash the oils off, the paint doesn't stick right and tends to flake off. the primer needs a clean...

    Painting and putting together minis

I use JB weld for large pieces, but you have to do a little prep first. drilling holes and filling them with the glue gives a stronger bond. To hold the pieces together while the JB sets I use just a dab of superglue. The problem with superglue is that it is very brittle, doesn't fill gaps...

    Allowing PCs to be heroic

The truth of it is that Heroism is difficult. Not only should it be difficult physically but morally as well... Hacking your way thru a horde of orcs can be difficult physically, but isn't really heroic if it isn't in the service of a higher cause. In my experience, most players aren't...
