D&D 4E Users of Hero Lab for 4e?

So it can use all the WotC stuff, and I can add in my own? That sounds ideal.

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

I never said that... :p I said "some people" take that text to mean that... personally, I don't think that something you'd never read if you weren't interested in playing a Ranger qualifies as a rule... and it's not like ignoring it breaks anything. Fair enough. Though I would point out...

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

Some people take the text for the description of Off-hand, and the Ranger Two-Blade Fighting Style, to mean that you can't do what you're suggesting. The rule is implicit, not explicit. You can't use two weapons unless you have powers that say so, so I'd allow it. Discussed more in this thread.

Am I missing something? There's nothing in the OP's post other than the sig.

Question about one of the items from Adventurer's Vault

It requires a seperate superior weapon proficiency feat. It's a light blade, but not a dagger.

    Is the Monk overpowered?

Right. Light blade only though... so low damage. It's all fairly well balanced. Mostly.

    Is the Monk overpowered?

    No at-will attacks, iirc.

Wizard attack question - Intelligence bonus

His attack bonus should be +5 for the INT if it is still 20 (although it should be 21 at level 4, which is still +5), +2 for the 1/2 level, for +7, plus any implement bonus... and he really should have an implement at this level. What sort of Wiz did he make (i.e. Staff, Orb, Wand) ? His...

    Is the Monk overpowered?

I haven't done the math, but don't weapon users also have access to expertise feats? Aren't weapon users ahead of the curve on damage output since they can use better weapons? Doesn't it work out then that Monks hit more often but do less damage?

    Is the Monk overpowered?

Isn't an accurate implement only an additional +1?

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

I was just flipping through some old Dark Sun stuff... I can see them not allowing Divine power source classes. Somewhere someone posted that they are having "no Gnomes" as a sidebar, not a rule. I wonder if they'll use the racial restrictions on classes at all, or even mention them?
  15. Mort_Q

    Is the Monk overpowered?

It's simply a matter of balance. As non-weapon attacks, this balances out the lack of weapon proficiencies.

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

D&D XP 2010: Dark Sun Characters According to the blog linked above, the weapon breaking rules are, in typical 4e (no penalties, only bonuses) style: Not bad. Some of the reasoning is mentioned in the blog linked below. WotC_RichBaker An easy grittier House Rule (not tested, just thinking...

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

Well... once they got through 4e-ing the half-giants... they'd be miniaturized anyway. ;)

    Who's Hype for Dark Sun???

Really? This is the first time Goliaths have sounded at all interesting (other than mechanically) to me. I think they made the right choice by not creating another race that fills the same niche. Sprinkle in some Campaign specific racial feats... I'm looking forward to it!
