D&D 5E I feel like the surveys gaslit WotC about """"Backwards Compatibility""""

The 2024 5R rules changed a lot across the Unearthed Arcana surveys. After a certain point, however, the more experimental rules were rolled back to go back to classic 2014 paradigms. This was done in the name of backwards compatibility -- the ability to use old subclasses and adventures with...

D&D 5E Enhancing Vecna: Eve of Ruin *SPOILERS*

5R characters are going to tear through encounters starting in Tier 2 and beyond. I don't think most of your houserules for limiting power do especially anything to 5R charactes, since most of their power is derived from their boosted class abilities. You should instead boost damage of "tanky"...

D&D 5E Enhancing Vecna: Eve of Ruin *SPOILERS*

S Spelljammer + Dead Gods could be going to the jungle continent and finding a shipwreck in the remains of a dead giant (it's a really big giant) or a skyship crashed into an old colossus.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

    Really! What turned you off?

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

Acquisitions Inc. (the book, not the campaign) has the best rules for bastions IMO.

I think they are going to quietly ignore bastions.

    D&D (2024) Specifying 5e

    I do 5E vs 5R.

D&D General Race Has No Mechanics. What do you play?

Well yes, any setting should be well executed. Humans only is worthwhile but isn't hard to do IMO. I've played in IRl settings (like rome) and other settings like Game of Thrones that are largely just people. It's a fun creative exercise, but it's one of the oldest tricks in the book and just...

D&D General Race Has No Mechanics. What do you play?

I actually want the opposite and a no humans setting. I'd like a setting that's all monster races -- I think it would be interesting.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

All the Weapon Mastery properties are included, which is good. Four backgrounds so we get 4 Origin feats. I think we get most of the Epic Boons as well. And Hex is added now too! Nice.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

No Bastion rules really sucks. I would have loved to design some enhancements to the system for 3rd party. Without 3PP support IMO, Bastions will wither on the vine and not be included in future editions of the game. Shame to lose a good idea due to mid execution and no support.

    D&D (2024) Spicy combat

Interesting Reactions allow for combat to feel more like a call-and-response, which can be exciting. Every 10 minutes of real time that passes, I roll on a table of benefits to make combat more dangerous. This can be anything from modifiers to damage, new types of damage, creatures gaining...

D&D General Race Has No Mechanics. What do you play?

Still either Yuan-Ti, Drow, or Tiefling.

D&D 5E What could 5E do to make wealth worthwhile?

I don't want to read the whole thread to see if this should be seen, but I think money should be spent on in-world cosmetics and customization. Bastion Changes Weapon and Armor Materials Special Flares or Crests Common Magical Items that are enchanted accessories Vehicles and animals Skills...

    D&D (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

Ok so, I am working on a setting guide right now for my published 5E setting but for 5R. I've limited the weapons in this document to what will be in that setting. I've been playtesting these for a while, but it's a lot of masteries and weapon properties and weapon materials so I expect some...

    D&D (2024) Stealth Errata

Honestly, I think this might be a place where we have to use """""natural language"""" and call it a day. WHat does it mean to be concealed? What does it mean to be found while concealed or hidden? Those are things that should probably just be resolved by the in-game fictional state as...

D&D (2024) WotC Announces April 22 Release For 2024 System Reference Documents

Working on a project right now targeted for this. Won't be ready in time but I'm excited for the 5.2 SRD.
