Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

Agreed to sticking to charm person.

    Converting Greyhawk monsters

Agreed to Shade's blinding brilliance. I think making the DR higher than the greater stone golem's is a good way to peg them on a similar CR level with the diamond golem's reduced HD.

Technically finished, but the AC is really really bad for a CR 5, especially one with that few HP. Can we give her some sort of unearthly grace type ability?

Send In The Clowns… (or, Converting the Oddballs)

Not Lightning Reflexes. Stand Still or Weapon Focus (gore)

Converting "generic setting" Second Edition monsters

    Strike "natural", replace with "magical".

    Converting Greyhawk monsters

    I like the blinding flash.

    Converting Monsters from Dungeon Magazine

No thanks. It's already got DR/slashing. The combo makes it pretty impossible to damage. Edit: In Pathfinder, the howler quill penalty is straight sickened, which I rather like.

    I prefer negotiator as well.

Send In The Clowns… (or, Converting the Oddballs)

The only things with DR 10/- are elementals, and this isn't that tough. DR 5/-

Sure. Vulnerability to sonic may also be appropriate.

Splinters like a howler's quills appeal.

    Converting Al-Qadim creatures

Perhaps they can make Know (architecture and engineering) checks to ignore x points of hardness, and convey that information to allies?

    Converting Forgotten Realms monsters

I think we should put a rank into Climb, if only for the reason that we can include it in the stat-block. Also, considering its religious role, adding Know (religion) and Know (dungeoneering) makes sense, again if even only a few ranks.

    Converting Greyhawk monsters

    Cleon's stats appeal.

    Converting Monsters from Dungeon Magazine

Slotting it in between a flesh golem and a stone golem works for me, but only if we give it some manner of special attack--all golems except flesh have one, and this as written now is just a beat-stick. How about DR 5/slashing and adamantine?

    Converting Oriental Adventures creatures

Wait, do you mean you favor Persuasive because it gives them a boost to Intimidate, despite them not having any ranks in? Negotiator: +2 to Diplomacy, Sense Motive Persuasive: +2 to Bluff, Intimidate

Converting "generic setting" Second Edition monsters

I agree with your assessment on using the stats for a stone golem as a start. As you already know, I strongly dislike the immune to natural defenses. We'll see what freyar's opinion is.

This seems pretty hazard-y to me too.

    Converting Forgotten Realms monsters

All of those (including Listen and Spot) sound appropriate.

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

Hm. Four monsters in one. First thought--the caldron should have the ability to grapple multiple opponents without penalty.
