I'm 26, and I feel that there's really something wrong with a Fantasy game that doesn't pay tribute to Tolkien's greatness by having hobbits in the game.

They really should have 6 SP/level. If you think this is too much, do what I did: Allow only 3 max to be put into any one skill/level (Jack of all trades, Master of none). It works!

I started off with 1e, but I haven't played in years. I still love it, but I think I like the rules in 3e better. Anyway, of course I could be convinced into playing 1e. It's not the system that's important, it's having fun.

Good point, Tewligan. The thing that's good about a quarterstaff is the way it's cut from the tree (1/4 angle, hence the name, I believe). This makes the wood a lot stronger than any broomstick or something I could buy at Home Depot.

Thanks a lot. I want something very authentic looking, that I wouldn't be ashamed to show some people who came to my apartment. Going around with stickball bats and broomsticks isn't my way to go about it. I think I'll pay the $20.
