    (Poll) Metric or Imperial

Hmm, this is a very good point.

    (Poll) Metric or Imperial

I'm working on a starter edition of my game and I don't know if I should use metric or imperial system for measurements. I personally use the metric system but hopefully I'm not the only one who is going to play it. -I'm sorry if there were threads such as this one before, I wasn't able to...

    Fun vs. a Good Run

Thanks! I guess the problem is that the game got a bit stale. We should probably play something else or make them take a seat in GM's chair once in a while.

    Fun vs. a Good Run

Ratskinner Thank you for the great suggestions! I should add that we don't play d&d. We have our own game that is 70% story driven with the rest focusing on combat. That's how we always played it and so far it's been fun. My problem isn't really how to tell my story or how to make it...

    Fun vs. a Good Run

That's great. When those things happen at my table, it usually means an early night.

    Fun vs. a Good Run

The point of gaming is to have fun and that is always a top goal. If you had a fun night it doesn't mater what rules you've been using, what setting and what was the quest about. Still, we as a game masters sometimes spend a lot of time preparing NPCs, stories and combat encounters. For us...

Player want to be an animal

I'll keep that in mind ;)

Player want to be an animal

Thanks for the replies but like I said before the player wants a regular animal, nothing magical and we prefer a low fantasy game. Either way, I'm gonna allow the player to play a war dog as a companion to some other player and we'll see where that takes us.

Player want to be an animal

Yeah you are correct. It can spin out of control easily.

Player want to be an animal

This is what I'm afraid of but as Lindeloef suggested, telepathy with an interesting background can work nicely.

Player want to be an animal

Hmm, perhaps he could have a link with one of the other players.

Player want to be an animal

It's not, main problem is speech though.

Player want to be an animal

I agree, and that's how I'll handle it. I guess the issue, I and the rest of the group have, is that he wants and actual animal. So limited intelligence and lack of dialog is the problem. - On the side, what kind weird requests did your players have?

Player want to be an animal

I've never saw that post before :D

Player want to be an animal

Yeah I was thinking about the similar solution. He isn't shy, he is the very opposite. It's just that it's kind of odd request after 12 years of gaming together.

Player want to be an animal

One of my players keeps bugging me to allow him to play an animal. I allowed it once for a one-session-adventure to play some kind of a war hound and he loved it. We made him some special bite attacks and he would assist the party mostly as a distraction for the guards. I remember that they...

Do your campaigns have a theme?

I think they are. For one, religion in my campaign setting is based on faith. Gods never showed themselves and I never said to my players that they do or do not exists. This is probably because I'm conflicted on the matter myself. A lot of my villains are simply misguided characters whose desire...

how many classes is too many?

I don't think it's much of an issue when you are able to create a powerful combo in a classless system. I find it much worse when one class is significantly more powerful or weaker than other classes in a class based system.

GMs: How do you create a feeling of horror (in an heroic fantasy game)?

I once scared my player really good. They showed me the goosebumps! Here is how it went: They were staying at the inn in some remote village. They just finished a quest and they weren't expecting anything to happen. I told them that some noise wakes them up, coming from below. Simple...

How will the Doom Kickstarter fraud scandal affect future Kickstarters?

So very true. I'm one of them as well, with a project about to finish unfunded. Luckily I learned a lot from it and met some great people. But if we were successful, I don't think we would have problems with delivering what we promised. We already have a good chunk of work finished and I also...
