D&D 5E The Kickstarter for Mythological Figures & Maleficent Monsters Has Launched!

For the sake of my marriage I will wait at least one more paycheck before backing another kickstarter, but I'll get there. Edit: And I just realized I could merge said recent kickstarters by taking Grendel from here and adding him to a Beowulf: Age of Heroes game!

WotC Dungeons & Dragons Fans Seek Removal of Oriental Adventures From Online Marketplace

Your first post didn't imply never finding issues. It inferred always finding issues. There is a very valuable middle ground here: Said QA being actually involved in the design process, providing feedback early, reviewing code before it made it to the test environment, and helping solve bugs...

How often will you hire Quality Assurance if he finds no bugs in your software? If bugs were not there, the QA has done their job and helped to assure quality.

I m quite bothered that no one assumes I'm down to drink mead and go raiding once they find out my Scandinavian decent. I get tired of explaining to everyone I meet that that's all I want to do.

There's is also a risk of perpetuation those errors by staring too long into the abyss, or having them framed in a way to further weaponize them. There are right now people reading that book and thinking "You now this guy had it right" I do see value from a historical perspective. Know your...

I think that would be awesome. Especially with the popularity of things like The Kingdom on Netflix.

If there are folks reading a book and see the same kind of language and descriptions of their culture that was used to put down their ancestors, used as justification to deny them work, used to ostracize them and remind them of when they were ostracized, and they see that people are still making...

D&D 5E Is Adventures in Middle Earth worth trying to get?

I think Fria Ligan is going to focus on TOR2E at first so it may be a while before we see new AiME stuff. You might have the most luck contacting local gaming stores (or finding stores willing to ship) and seeing if they have any hardbacks in stock.

D&D General Fantasy Racism in D&D

We haven't explored it in my games yet, but I just started a Half-Orc Paladin in a new campaign and in his backstory he was unable to join a specific knightly order due to feelings towards local orcs. We'll see if anything comes of it.

    D&D 5E Dragon+ issue 32

Looks like there is a goliath werebear named Oyaminartok in Rime. I was already planning to play a Goliath so now my DM will have to deal with me begging to get bit by Oyaminartok. I can already imagine the things my character would debase himself to do just to get nibbled.

It really bothers me that he has 22 in Dexterity. Why can't my hero do that?

    “You do realize”

Things I've tried to remove from my talking/writing habits "Actually," "You do realize" "Everyone knows" Every sentence I've ever started with these phrases could have had them removed and kept the exact meaning of the sentence without sounding like an a-hole

D&D General Do Your Human Characters Match Your Ethnicity (etc)?

I think it's nice to be able to, how shall I put it? Explore or maybe even flex a part of yourself like that. In perhaps a similar but much more superficial way my characters also tend to be (ok not tend to but actually every time) a few inches taller than I actually am, or more in the case of...

    D&D 5E Epic Monsters: Balor

Awesome. I could see this working in a lot of campaigns as a 'mega-giant' or super Fomorian.

    Best Superhero

I do feel that Wally has gotten the shaft since Barry's return. Of all the original Teen Titan's he had risen the highest and was a super popular character to boot.

D&D General Do Your Human Characters Match Your Ethnicity (etc)?

I'm very guilty of making my D&D characters idealized versions of myself. Even my Half-Orc Paladin while having green skill still has the same hair and eye color as I actually do. Now the characters' ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation have never come up in any of my games, but if they did...

D&D General Play the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Demo

Except Java. I don't have to download c# to run programs built on it. Lousy Java. All true. It's one of the things I like about Linux gaming. It cuts down on a lot of bloat. It takes a lot of tweaking though, but Steam's Proton has opened up a lot of games that otherwise would be harder to make...

D&D General Play the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Demo

What about installing DirectX to run a game? A graphics Driver? Heck even an OS fits the description. All software runs on other software except Machine Code However I do understand the sentiment. Every time some program asks me to install Java my instinctive response is "Why though?" but that...
