I use Leisure Games. Can't say i have ever had a fault with them. Apart from the time they sent me denizens of Darkness instead of Spells and Spellcraft. But its now my favourite book so I forgave tehm.

You do what I did. Play a male Channeler. And overchannel. Lots. Then *really* roleplay that madness. As a 2nd level male channeler I did over 100 points of damage in one round. (Admitadly I did overchannel some before hand to make those giant grenades!)

There will be, oh yes... there will... Also I tend to buy everything that Mongoose and GR publish 'cos its generally top-notch! In both of these cases there both great! Having read tehm a bit more now I would say that the GR book would be very good for anyone who wants to bring a sorcerer-like...

Check out the magic system in Talislanta 4th Edition, its not d20, but quite similar and with a little tweeking could be modified.
