Since Shape D. only answered your question in a round-about way... It says "If the result × the DC equals the price of the item in sp, then you have completed the item." It doesn't say anything about how much you had to pay, just the price, so you go with the market price in silver.

It should work, but it shouldn't deal full damage to objects. Objects only take full damage from acid or sonic attacks. That's an effect of objects, not that particular invocation. All fire spells deals 1/2 damage to objects, just like acid spells deal full damage.
