    Fish & Chips

Yes, but not many IN my hometown we have one that's been there for generations. Has no indoor seating at all, it's really just a kitchen but in the summer when the weather's nice they put out some picnic tables around the place. Having said that, it's the only place like it I know of for at...

    Shadow Walk: Through walls?

Same here I've always interpreted it the way you describe too, with people sensitive enough to "see" across planar boundaries maybe picking out particularly poignant landmarks back on the prime as they travel.

    Empowered Ray of Enfeeblement

DMG p289-290 ..is where you'll find the effects of 0 abilities, Demoquin.

Why doesn't the 5' step provoke AoO?

Combat Reflexes Also if 5' steps provoked AoO's, prepare to see almost every front liner taking the Combat Reflexes feat and having the Dex to utilize it. This will in turn lead to a bogging down of combat as 50 AoO's take place each turn (an exaggeration, but you get my point). The...

Why doesn't the 5' step provoke AoO?

I suppose that works fine when you assume every encounter takes place out in the wide open with great visibility, plenty of room to run around, and opponents that aren't faster than you. As has been said before in the thread, it's your game and you're welcome to house rule it any way you see...

Between a rock and a hardplace

Heh If the paladin can't beat the harpies, but the wizard CAN, I tend to believe the paladin can't beat the wizard either. For the sake of your situation we'll say I guess it really depends on how much of the whole situation you outlined the paladin is actually aware of. Nobody can right...

Why doesn't the 5' step provoke AoO?

Moving IN as well Something I haven't seen mentioned here (though I could have just missed it) is that the 5' step is equally handy for getting inside the reach of those enormous critters that can smack you 20 or 30 feet away. These are the same creatures that tend to hit HARD, the kind you...

If you were the GM, would you accept this behavior?

You bet I'd have allowed it, even though from the sounds of it the players were certainly playing with an "us vs. the GM" mindset. But unless all those bombs were nukes (and thus easily spotted..."Why does everything you sell me come with a suitcase, my friends?"), it would be awfully hard to...

Reach Weapon and Hold the Line

Moving around... For a diminutive size creature (And even more so for one that can fly or move 3 dimensionally), there is a LOT of real estate in a "5' space"

does a nice, shy, meek guy have a chance in hell?

Yep, you have a chance :) Ok Aaron, time for some seriousness. Lots of good advice here, your "toolbox" is probably fuller now than most of the people here before this thread started up. Think on that one for a minute...because You asked the question, a lot of people here have seen different...

Getting stains out of a battlemat

Mr Clean! Just a couple weeks ago, we learned that those new little white square "Mr Clean magic erasers" would take darn near *anything* off a battlemat except the lines. Artifacts that had resisted the best efforts to be removed for years were wiped away in seconds. I don't know what's in...

    Good Free Virus Protection

Another vote for AVG I too have been using AVG for a couple years, I've found it to be at least as good as the big two of Norton and McAffee.

Also force effects Purely force effects, like Magic Missile, also do not miss as they extend to the ethereal as well.

    Call lightning

Not so many bolts You've missed the line that says "You may call a total number of bolts equal to your caster level (maximum 10 bolts)" So due to spell duration it may hang around for 5 minutes, your player may use it all up in 5 rounds at her current level.

    Casting While Prone

Consider also it's probably much easier to get your line of sight blocked laying down on the ground. All that waist high stuff you normally look right over like bushes, hay bales and halflings are suddenly in your way.
