D&D 5E NPC Features races as PC races

Why not run a couple simple adventures/dungeon crawls and see how they are, and if they're fine for your group just have fun using them in a longer campaign?

    D&D 5E 101 campaign premises

The presence of dragons is known to change the environment, but what was not known was the extent of it. And now, some force has been systematically slaying the dragons, and the world has been growing more dull, grey and static, though in smaller areas there are imbalances to the various...

Second 5th Edition Survey! Plus Results of the First Survey: The Ranger Gets Some Attention!

I wish they had made a general companion rules that any character could have, and the Beastmaster ranger would just have some extra stuff to add on to that.

D&D 5E Any old D&D adventures with non-bad guy dragons?

My particular setting for my next campaign/set of adventures, a significant portion of dragons have good relations towards humans or are indifferent (not sure which is most), and they have a good favor towards other dragons (over there, in their own territory, or as short term guests). Most of...

D&D 5E Any old D&D adventures with non-bad guy dragons?

I got both the Slaying Stone and To the Aid of Falx from dndclassics.com (the latter being part of the Phoenix Egg), but I couldn't find Gorgoldand's Gauntlet. To the Aid of Falx looks particularly good for what I want The Dragonlance adventures are what I'm not looking for, I want there to be...

D&D 5E Any old D&D adventures with non-bad guy dragons?

I'm interested in looking over some old adventures where dragons have a more positive role rather than a negative/bad guy role, though neutral ("there's a dragon in the hills over there" with not much more about it) or absent is fine. Or if the dragon is a hazard but the possibility of diplomacy...

D&D 5E As a Player, what would be your Ideal Campaign?

Setting: I prefer traditional medieval fantasy settings with lots of races running around. Also I'd prefer a homebrew, or a premade setting that's mostly just a framework with lots of blanks that the group can fill in. I prefer there to be dragons in the setting, and if so they must *not* be the...

    D&D 5E Balance in Races

you're leaving out the last part of Mephista's statement "...and it falls short in a lot of cases." There's a difference between a signature aspect that works well, and a signature aspect that doesn't work well. I'm absolutely certain that you didn't mean it this way, but by the logic of the...

Dragonborn and Aasimar vs. Tiefling and Titanborn? I could get behind that campaign

    D&D 5E Balance in Races

(first of all, I would have preferred races to have a bit more mechanical punch in general, or at least race + background and maybe some other component that could be general or be filled by the race, like humans/dwarves/elves get race+background+this-other-thing, while Dragonborn would just get...

    D&D 5E Balance in Races

Yeah, figured he was, yet that sentiment towards dragonborn isn't always a joke and it annoys me a little bit. So figured it was as good a place to express it as anywhere. Oh, and another thing that annoys me about the Dragonborn: Why'd the tieflings get the big dragonish tails and the...

    D&D 5E Balance in Races

No, racial relations is highly campaign dependent. Some campaigns might do that, others the Dragonborn are the one's people like to see in town and the creepy little halflings and ominous elves are the ones who draw the torches and pitchforks. Torches and pitchforks really shouldn't be an...

    D&D 5E Balance in Races

Throw me into the camp that thinks the Dragonborn is rather weak, and really disappointed. I'd have liked to see their breath weapon be a recharge 5-6 ability, as well as give them a couple minor but flavorful benefits. Even if the breath weapon & resistance currently is as good or even better...

    D&D 5E Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

That's also something that greatly annoys me. Some of us do want to play large characters, and not just kinda big but *LARGE*! :P I'm hoping they fix that particularly bit of design choice in this edition.

    D&D 5E Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

I voted for council of wyrms. Less so for the setting itself as for the rules for playing dragons. Most of the popular settings I expect will be made eventually, and I generally prefer custom or lighter/vaguer settings, so felt no need to vote for them.

    D&D 5E Variant rule oversight?

I think he means when a character has both advantage and disadvantage at the same time.
