Help me get Screenmonkey or Maptools to work.

It's a nightmare. Every year lately I've been moving. Which means that every year I need to figure out the new set of hoops to leap through to set up, in my case, Kloogewerks or Fantasy Grounds. Last year not only did I have to set up firewalls on the computer and port forwarding on the...

4E Adventure -- Scourge of the Ratmen: Price reduced (and rebate)

Very cool! Looking forward to some air pirates.

Licensees not going to 4e because of poor sales?

You're right -- I forgot about that. Yah, a typical $10 PDF is a 96 page or so book (or maybe 64 page book that's a new release). Maybe the extra charge is to cover potential legal fees!

Licensees not going to 4e because of poor sales?

GM Skarka of Adamant Entertainment said a while back that he wasn't overly impressed with the sales of his Venture4th module, Scourge of the Ratmen -- and I've read it. It's a solid module. So maybe 4e's good for WotC, but not such a big deal for 3PPs. Though it might instead be that PDFs...

Condescending too. Just all kinds of win today.

Forked Thread: Goodman IS going GSL!

I don't believe people deserve respect based on amount of time posting -- but I don't think Psion making a mistake warrants the kind of rude response Psion got, and that would hold for anyone, no matter how many posts they have.

Forked Thread: Goodman IS going GSL!

They can still distribute any physical stock they have left in their warehouse. So I don't think there'd be any pulping required. Electronic stock all has to go away immediately -- so I guess this means that Goodman Games isn't selling enough old PDFs to make that a big concern. And, of...

    Gleemax is Dead

RE: A failure of DDI affecting sales of D&D books: I definitely believe it will in an opportunity cost way -- in that, a successful DDI will increase sales of D&D books since a good DDI will make it easier for more people to game, and those people will then have a reason to buy more books.

When is D&D Insider actually launching?

I don't know about the colossal part -- but Magic Online 3 is certainly a failure for me. It went from being a game/interface I enjoyed and played in Magic Online 2, to something that's too annoying to use (and still missing key features). And that example along with eTools seems to be the...

    D&D to become entirely online?

At the rate the DDI is progressing I'll be playing MMO's on my Wii-holodeck before D&D is wholly online!

    Woot and congrats! Looks great.

    4th edition power tracker

What Morrus said -- -- and this sort of thing would likely fall under WotC's fansite/support policy in WotC's eyes, which in the past was very friendly.

OotS #570 Is Up, Including Critical Interpretations of Burlew's Style & OotS Content

I disagree with that. This method adds an element of suspense -- they'll eventually figure out that the mark has been activated -- then they'll figure out why -- then there will be a showdown. And we still haven't heard from Tiamat -- who will certainly be sending very nasty monsters after...

OotS #570 Is Up, Including Critical Interpretations of Burlew's Style & OotS Content

That's my feeling too. I'd like to read this strip for at least 20 more years -- and they're going to need a lot of side quests for that!

D&D 4e Rules Compendium in online!

The stuff that's not yet available sounds good -- and I look forward to it, and if they just started this project 3 weeks ago then it's okay. But I have to wonder what they've been doing about the DDI for the last year besides advertising it.

D&D 4e Rules Compendium in online!

That was done by some unpaid guy on the internet in his spare time -- like, while working a real job. Supposedly the DDI has been brewing up with a team of full-time professional programmers for a year or more and all they've got at launch + 3 weeks is a search box and copy and pasted text?
